Glad to see you are still alive Mr Bean :D Looking very good, and steel piping will be even nicer - I assume it's a steel braid over a plastic automotive pipe?

Thanx for the feedback guys :)

Well, I purchased 2m of std industrial stainless steel instrument tubing, will be using that. Want to get rid of the cluttered look of the std tubing :sigh:

Yip Acid Burn, it is the VapoLS. Nice unit :D

    Terve Noobidoo, kiitos paljon!

They say it is difficult to kill weed....lol....anyway, I had some busy work-related things, travelling to Tampere, in a few weeks I am off to Zurich, to do some Profibus PA course.....Industrial Networking....so, the travelling from South Africa to the Northern hemisphere keeps me busy...but not that I complain.

I am starting on the window mod, will be simple, but should be quite nice-looking, and effective....will post some pics either tonight or tomorrow....

The waterchill tubing, as I have mentioned, will be replaced by 10mm Industrial grade stainless steel Instrument tubing...I have it already, busy measuring/cuttting/bending......

I can't get the tight-radiused bends I hoped for, but, it would look a lot nicer tha the pvc tubing.

Keep the comments/tips coming guys, input from you guys are always appreciated :)

    Have a nice Saturday.

    Hello Guys,
Ok, as promissed, the new pipe-work.....

    a Little closer....

    An angled shot up close....

    Another one.....

And the backside, neat as ever....

For those that have been closely following this log, you will note that the 3 stock black 80mm fans in the lower front and upper back have been replaced by blue led units, for a bit of subtle lighting....

All fans in this box is now controlled via the Vapochill Chillcontrol unit, via Windows applet. Very nice. I made slight changes to the wiring to accomodate this, as a few will of you will certainly spot.....

Let me know what you all think, and what I can do to improve the inside, before I move to the exterior mods.

Feedback will be, as always, appreciated.

    Br,
    MrBean.

Very clean and subtle, the pipework and cable management is excellent, you just need a nice window to show it all off now :D Keep it up.

    Hello Everyone,
Thanx for taking the time to reply to my modest...err...mod :)

Leeum: I am planning a window mod, something unique...will keep in the style of the mod. Will have some new pics in the week sometime.

Dualbios: Of course you are most welcome to use any ideas, and improve on them :) Just show us some pics for mutual enjoyment. Would be nice.

apHytHiaTe: Thanx for the kind words, it is appreciated :) You guys are so friendly...

Any comments out there what I can improve on the inside? Short of taking eveything apart again...lol....

In keeping with the metal style you have employed so well MrBean

You may like to consider exchanging those push-fit fittings on the stainless steel plumbing line to chromed brass connectors, this will only enhance the aesthetic while added additional cost however.

The pump now looks out of place
I feel a pump mod is in order
    - a custom built stainless steel outer housing would be in keeping

The Waterchill Reservoir black base & top cap could be silver anodized accordingly

Either way MrBean your've rased the benchmark for others to follow

    Hello H2gO,
Thanx for the feedback - a few things to consider again, to improve the theme. :)

Good idea, something else I have considered, is using megamyte sleeving (same as on cables) to stealth the pipes, and make them blend in with the theme. What do you think about this idea?

As for the pump: If only I could get a FMJ for this one locally...maybe see if I can import one, or make it myself.

As for the re-routing of the pipes, I came up with the following idea - take note that I am not a specialist in MS Paint :) But, you should at least get an idea as what I am up to...

This would make access to the mobo and related components easier, as well as tyding up the surrounding area.

Let me know what you all think. After all, it is you guys who make a mod special! We only implement all those ideas out there :)

    Thanx again,
    MrBean.

Yeah bean, re route it cuz this gives you problems with the evaporator screws which you won't be able to detach, attach.

ps: got my first condensation problems with the lightspeed already, im running on air now. Those damn isolation pads that go over your socket get all pushed to nothin right? well if you attach / detach it too many times, you won't have any isolation left

    Hello Guys,
Ok, update time again...whew...been busy the last 3-4 days.....but, I am having great fun.

Hi Modkit, actually I have enough space to attach/detach the Chillhead.... :) Made sure of that. Re-routing will purely be for aesthetics. But, thanx for the heads-up.

I have not encountered any condensation, maybe because I am really using a lot of dielectric grease....socket is stuffed to the brim, even the backside of the mobo underneath the rear pad. :)

Anyway, here goes: Pic1, window all taped up, and shape traced onto masking tape.

Window cut and sides filed first with coarse no1, then finer no2 file. Came out very straight.....mmm...I luv my jigsaw skillzz.... :)

Ok, a Window with a difference...for now....I will probably use plexi as well, with some theme...but this is a trial, and I like it - Modders Mesh:

Window fitted to side of case, to see how it looks:

And the same, but with mesh fitted - temporary only!

    Full-on side shot:

An angled shot showing side window, as well as radiator intake on the top:

An angled shot from the front:

    Frontal:

Ok, I have to get Vapo side panels anodized, but that will happen in due time.

You guiys remembered the hard-drives mounted at the back of the mobo tray - well, I will make a small window, with the same mesh, approx. 20cm X 20cm, to allow heat (if any) to escape from harddrives. :)

That is all for now, let me know what you think.

    Br,
    MrBean.

I like the mesh idea, but at least in the pics you can barely see inside of it. Are you going to get more interior lighting for it?

Great (and expensive!) work so far. I tend to love any mod that involves a Lian Li :D

    Hello Firehed,
Thanx for the comments - the mesh will prolly be removed, I will use 3mm plexi, with something like a Matrix-style theme on the Window....like the screensaver in Linux.

Ok, I know it is not original, but I like the screensaver quite a lot, and would love to have the widow etched in that design. At the same time the fans inside will be replaced by green units.....

As for CCFL's....don't wanna use them, they cause to much issues in PC's...emi etc :) Just personal opinion.

    But, any advice/feedback/critisism welcome :)

    Thanx.

Sounds like a trip to LSDiodes is in your future then :) Some ultrabright greens :D
thepcmodshop.com has a matrix etch you may wanna check out, although if you don't like the stock one I'm sure they can do a custom one too.
