There probably won't be much info available at the mo, but as we get closer to launch, I think we'll see more news headlines of the following form, "****** has been optimised for the new athlon 64 processors running a 64 bit architecture..........." If every time anyone sees something like this, keep track of it and post. Recurring brainfart over 8-ball
but what about this whole 'AMD gearing to shift into other markets and out of cpus' mess? Is it to say that the clawhammers/sledgehammers are the last procs AMD's gonna make for PCs? Are they going to produce clawhammers/sledgehammers at all? I'm so scared. Please tell me they're just going to worry about other products more, but will continue to make and develop CPUs for PCs as more of a side project... So scared... So confused...
Imagine the disaster if AMD pulled out and just left Intel to charge even more than they are charging now .... Even die-hard Intel fans have to agree with me on this ...
whoever started this thread forgot cyrix cmon those eden things r quite sweet.... having said that i had a cyrix 166+ at one point and im fairly sure my p75 outran it. but id thought id mention it anyway.
hah, fond memories, I remember back when I was being told to upgrade my p90 to a cyrix 233. Ah, the memories
ure forgetting the future, my firend says "Soon there will be NO AMD or INTEL, it will be the turn of the biological Processor" Yes he is nuts but apparently they been working on one somewere, anyway Its news to me so............... Personally I favour Intel at this moment in time, looking to get a 2.4 Northwood soon enough!
Doesn't it run on leaches? Biological computing could bring a whole new meaning to the term, kicking the dam thing, because now you would have to convince it to work! Also...what would happen if it dies!! Talk about programmed obsolecence
im changing lanes... i would RATHER get my hands on a P4 than an athlon XP... however, i cannot nearly afford a P4 so i would still buy AMD. If intel lower their prices, i woudl go for them in a heartbeat!
