Having read the article entitled "Inspiration", I was struck by a thought about a point made by its author. I've just personally started using some of the new imacs at school for general surfing and photoshop design, and I can honestly say that I'd love to see an Apple forum.

From what I can see, this idea has been proposed numerous times by staff, but I've had a quick scan through the feedback forum and seen nothing about it, but I think it would excellent to be able to discuss Apple products within a community as developed as bit-tech's. :thumb:

I'd say there are plenty...and I'm sure there would be more people who would consider it if more information (which is made available by forums) was posted in a central point. At the moment bit-tech covers most aspects of computer, from programming to small form factor, so surely apple products have a rightful place, if that's the right term...

I'm positive that there are plenty of bit tech staff who would be willing to take up the position of moderator, and a poll would be very nice if someone could put one in.

I'm a mac fan and I own a couple. I think this "let's create a new forum" fad thats going around is getting out of hand.

I'm interested in the Mac mini as are a lot of other people on bit-tech so I think it would come in very handy indeed.

And doesn't GOO himself use an Apple notebook nowadays ;)

But then there are also plenty of good motors, audio visual, music, films & tv forums - at least an Apple forum would be related to computing & hardware in general.

I agree a Apple forum would be a cool addition unlike lots of non-comp related forums we have now.

I'd actually quit if there was a apple/mac forum made...

Bit-tech is one of the few places i can (usually) get away from "artistic" mac users.

You might say "don't go to the mac section", ah, but the mac users would come and spread their plight in other forums.

Not just that, but if we make an "Apple" forum, where do you draw the line. A dell forum?

I ask in total ignorance, can one/do people mod or over-clock Apples? Or have problems with the software?

I thought they were like Volkswagens, just kept going...

This is the best idea I've seen in the Feedback forum. Especially since I recently threw my PC into the closet through lack of use. I am officially a Mac convert.

There is a plethora of things to discuss. Do it!

There are loads of Mac users on here already and you obviously haven't noticed so doesn't that kinda prove your theory wrong? Hell, three members of the bit-tech staff use Macs.

That Dell bit is not worth commenting on.

It's simply addressing an idea to improve the forum...I agree that people saying "oh let's have a forum about my new project" is ridiculous, but Apple computers are growing in popularity.

    :D

That's exactly my point. The popularity has grown to such an extent that it warrants being included in bit tech.
