Thanks for the comments guys. I was surprised myself by how good the contrast looks. It has taken a while but i finally see the end in sight. ps TTmodder: i didnt quite understand your comment - are you asking whether i would sell this? If so i am flattered but after all the work that has gone into this i will definitely be holding on to it... at least till the next mod.
awesome I LOVE that case, wow. That colour combination is STUNNING! your hard work on this is REALLY starting to show in full
WOWOWOOWOWOW SEXY DAMIT APPLE wowowo sexy sexy... damm I love it.... brother u doing some rockin work.. good luck
Thanks again everyone! The hard work is paying off at last. I wont be able to update for a couple of weeks im afraid as going on holiday but when i get back i will be looking to finish off the outer case (further sanding and polishing), possibly giving the black cage a polish (as per This mnpctech tutorial) - this will depend on how good the contrast with matt black looks. I might just clear coat it (that will give it a little shine i guess) and leave it as it is. Time will tell. After that i will be concentrating on the watercooling loop (have received some advice about this lately that means i might be reverting to my initial idea of a single loop with no branches) and a plexi cover to hide the radiators along with some of the tubing to leave a clean finish. Will also be working on a hard drive cage that will be attached to the top of the case, above the 120.1 radiator. See you all in a couple of weeks! Cyp.
man i don't know what to say that hasn't already been said, but it is a great looking mod. the fan mounts look like you did them with a machine.
wowowow! looks ALOT nicer than i tought it would turn out to be very good work. you just need to clean up the aluminum now and thats will be one kick @$$ mod.
please don't polish the black, i really like the flat black look you already have there, just brush the metal and ill be all good
02/09/2007 - cage completed Well after a break im back to finish this case off once and for all. I need to let you in on a little secret first... the pics of the case i took for the last big update only showed the front of the case. That was because i hadnt been able to smooth the back out in time to take some shots before i went on holiday. Now its all done. After giving it the first coat of black i noticed that the back was quite uneven around the 80mm fan exhaust, especially where the aluminium i had inserted met the case sides. I rubbed it down, re-applied etch primer and then had to redo the holes as they have a tendancy to clog up! Needle file work: Here is the finished inner cage after 2 coats resting on the tack cloth i rubbed it down with: and a little close up of the area that was annoying me! And some more pics of the motherboard tray and mnpctech machined billet fan grill attached: What's left to do: 1. Another couple of coats of paint, sanding with 2000grit and then clearcoat... possibly followed by polishing. Will test this out on another piece of aluminium first to see what it looks like. 2. Finish sanding and polishing the outer cage. 3. Finishing the case window and attaching it to the case side panel. 4. Then on to the case internals... Stay tuned. Cyp.
That now look like just about the sweetest case you could get. Looks like a nicer version of the V1000.
