did some more work on the Ta'unar its kinda weird how the arm weapons have magnet holes as do the weapons on the chest, but the main weapons on the top dont for some reason, meaning i chose to drill a pair of 10mm holes in a VERY expensive chunk of resin ive also printed out the other weapon options
Nice, Good to see a realistic paint scheme. I am off work this week but I poked my nose into the office to help out with the technical interview for a new colleague, so on the way home I stopped my WHW on the off chance that I could pick up the Black Library model, Ufthak Blackhawk, and they had a bunch in, yay no need to wait for months for it to be made. I also grabbed a box of the Kill Team Inquisitorial Agents, awesome models, just the sort of thing that I missed from the old days of WH40k. Got the kits home and started to clean up the BL model and I have to say that although it is a decent model, good fun with the gun rest/targetting squig, and it is pretty well cast with very little mould lines and so on, but the sculpting is not good at all. It is very much like we used to have decades ago with chunky details which are a bit too smoothly sculpted, it's almost a combination of the 3D CAD sculpting that is standard now and the older hand sculpted stuff. It's OK, I just expected something better for a special edition model.
Don't forget.... /*edit*/ And whilst i was there, i grabbed a couple more special editions, they had a wall of various SE models:
I fkg love Titans. I know we've all seen it, but showed the kids this the other day - one just watched with an open grin and the other commented "Well that was quite dramatic, wasn't it?"
All good ta. Still building, still painting. Although I am being a lot more selective in what I do build and paint these days. Not bothered in collecting a load of things like I used to. You getting up to much, model-wise?
Oh, I dove into some silly purchases in a big way! I bought a good 2,500 points worth of stuff for my Raptors marines a while back, which will bring me up to something close to 8,500 points in total? Turns out I already have 3,200 points fully painted so pretty happy with that. I also bout a 2,500 point Votann army, but I can't decide on a colour scheme. I'm working on their Kill Team (Hearthkyn Salvagers) to tinker with things a little bit. Going well outside my comfort zone with it and making something a bit more colourful. Additionally, I went even deeper in Adeptus Titanicus and now have 2 decent sized Legios, though I've yet to build my traitor force fully. All in, I think I have 18-20 titans. On the back of that then, with the release of Legions Imperialis and there being that lovely crossover, I've got a bit nuts and bought a sizeable force for both Astartes and Auxilia. I have a ~1,500 point game coming up on Wednesday and this is the force I have built so far.
Ever heard of Displate? I decided to get a limited edition print (right) and an extra little treat. Massively impressed with the quality, especially the limited edition one which also has raised, glossy and matt parts. The limited edition one was a little pricey, but the second I opened it I had no regrets. Great to to you chap! Hope you're back to sticking around as I remember you from my early Bit Tech days.
Displate do make some lovely stuff. I have a bunch of Splatter-style art and the set from Cyberpunk 2077 as well. I've refrained from getting the 40K displates so far, but will get some next year for the hobby room. This year will hopefully see the construction of my house, and part of that is a 6mx6m hobby building (with sauna, because I'm half-Finnish), so I need good art Good to see you too Pete! I had left BT to the curb for a long while, but thought I'd have a nosey and see if the forums were still kicking around
Because I'm somewhat slow in the head (krak grenade concussion from the Badab campaign), it's just occurred to me that the name is a portmanteau of "display" and "plate". Ten points and a cereal bar for me.
