Hello, my name is Arboreal, and I like tinkering with small motherboards and SFF PC's.

It seems I'm not alone, rather than spam DK FS thread to agree with Parge, I thought I'd do so here!

Why am I looking at other toys, when I should be saving for an i5 46x0K CPU?

There, I've admitted it, that's the first step

    Yes, to a degree.
It's a specific and dangerous form of the affliction though....
Cramming as much PC horsepower/Teraflops/SSD goodness in as small a case as possible.

    5820k AND a 980ti in 12.5L...... SOMEBODY STOP ME!

I so nearly pulled the trigger on a Dan A4 SFX. Only thing that stopped me is that I'd have to downgrade my CPU (and spend £200!)

I've got a big problem. I've got two tiny machines in Akasa Euler cases, my M1 (with water cooled 5960X and Titan X, an RVZ01 crammed full of water, and another motherboard waiting for a home.

    WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?

    Same affliction all round, fellas.

Jinqs - I've seen your disposal list. The squirrel gene is strong...:naughty:

Parge - Some control, resists a DAN A4...hmmm intersting

Luckily I've been too poor to be led astray by a NUC; yet

Sonicgroove's not ITX H61 board is keeping me busy

I've got a Silverstone FT03 Mini (my favourite EVER case) in storage for the day I can get a top end 250mm GPU.

Nice case Parge, alu and a ground breaking design too.
I can now admit to having a modded (by someone else) SG06 waiting in storage for something good to populate it.
Although I love my M VI Impact, I still have an irrational attraction to the M V and M VI Gene.... Doc, help me!

I've just built my self an ITX htpc/server - I love how small it is.

I'm now itching to upgrade (downsize?) my main computer to ITX by buying a new motherboard and case but I think I'll wait to my next upgrade cycle.

I havs two itx builds, i love the small form factor.

Both builds sit pretty much unused but i still love having my TT core V1 sat on top of my tele, its my favourite pc.

My CM 110 is the most customised pc in the house with its cut and shut psu with shortened and fully sleeved wiring and physical alterations to allow a larger GPU to be installed, this pc will be fully used when my daughter bies to uni though

I'm not sure ill go mini itx for my own everyday pc though, but maybe.......

Current build is in an Ncase M1. Eyeing up both the Dan A4 and the Zaber Sentry to go even smaller (and lose the last 3.5" drive), and possibly a Kimera Nova in the event anyone ever actually implements VR multi-GPU.

What watercooling setup are you using in the RVZ01? Is it custom or an AIO? I couldn't get a Seidon 120V v2 in there to save my life...

You don't have to downgrade your CPU. I use the 5820k in my prototype.

Were you cooling it with that mental little blower it ships with though? I've got a H105 on mine!

Hi Dondan, thanks for stopping by.
Congratulations again on the Kickstarter, and for creating an amazing case with so much potential.
I'm following your posts on [H] and SFFN, which I have really come to enjoy visiting - haven't posted there really though.

I think the A4 will really boost interest in small and powerful ITX setups, where even the venerable Ncase M1 is too large.

Phinx, nice to see you on here - Chimera is looking good, that shiny powder coating is something else!

@Parge: I use a Dynatron T318 with Noctua FAN. This is the only heatsink that can fit inside the A4-SFX on the 2011-3 Narrow ILM socket. Here is a how to: https://www.dan-cases.com/faq.html (scroll to the end)

Or you use an external watercooling solution like this:

    @Arboreal: Thank you :)

My personal issue is that i have too much spare, unused hardware - GTX960 4GB, 8GB DDR4, Crucial MX200 250GB, GeminII M4 CPU cooler, Corsair VX450, Lian Li PC-Q08... all i need is a mobo and CPU. but then i realize - why would i even use that computer for ? I sit next to my desktop (5930K/32GB RAM/GTX980), server/HTPC duties are done by the i5-6400/32GB RAM "server", i have a NUC-like computer as the bedroom HTPC...

The only thing i can think of is to replace the bedroom HTPC, but why would i do that ? But it is bugging me :D

I have long been on the holy grail of a small, powerful and quiet rig.

Started with a via itx socket 370 board (which I still have)!

Currently cheating in and evolv itx case. But just in the spares room I have at least 4 "spare" itx cases, 3 sfx psu's and this isn't counting the stuff collected in my famous outhouse (Parge has seen it! )

Oh and the two nucs I have as well.

One day I will reach my goal!
