I'm not convinced I could tell the difference between Titebond and mayonnaise in a blind taste test.

    Truth.

But on the flip-side, not only did the cupboard I built using mayonnaise fall apart in no time, it started to stink as well.

Moral of the story: Titebond for everything.

Since the wife and I are unhappy with our 2ndhnd.com office chairs (won't ever buy from them again), this x 2:

The "gaming" variant was quite a bit cheaper than the normal one and I don't mind the colours since they're quite muted anyway.

We have an office full of 'em. The boss told me they were around £300 a pop, and I thought he was taking the p!ss... but the look on his face (desolation, possibly regret) told me he was sincere.

They are great chairs, but £500 for these "limited" editions... OOOOFT.

We have aerons, expensive but well worth the investment. Never once got a bad back from extensive sitting at work, ever so often I do from a long day WFH.

I have never for a moment regretted the money I spent on my Aeron in 2018.

I went for a Steelcase Leap V2 for the office and use a more modest SecretLabs Omega for the gaming PC at home. A colleague in the office has an Aeron and I have to say I prefer the Leap purely for comfort but there's not much in it.

The Omega is great but from a simple ergonomics perspective the Leap thrashes it.

I'm a fan of my Steelcase Please. I use one at the office and managed to wangle getting one for home. It's got just enough adjustment that even for my 'overly tall' self I can sit comfortably in it for the entire day.

Although the urge to mod it is strong. I kind of want a higher back, but I've not yet decided how to go about it.

The cheapest Aeron I could find in Germany was ~1300 Euros. These two chairs together were <1100. Believe me, I wanted an Aeron.

I had an £18k PPI payment, so didn't hold back on the chair. I wasn't likely to get another chance to buy one new.

Good quality but the side bits on the base are rock hard. Great support when sitting straight but when I slouch, which I do a lot, bit hard on the side of the thighs. I got it 2nd hand locally for £80 so if I don't like it I'll flog it on. My IKEA chair has had to last 2 years instead of the usual 1 but I still dont fancy a 200 mile round trip just to get another.

After all this chair-chat I'm likely to ditch my own chair and use one of the office Sayls until I have to give it back...

Yeah I just lifted one from the office, they're Dauphin and I'd been sitting on one 9-5 for more than a decade and never had any complaints. Reassuringly heavy, at a minimum :hehe:

I recently had to gove up on my Celle. Lovely chair, but it was destroying the backs of my thighs! Currently it was a choice between a standing design or a chair, I chose standing desk! And the aareon has one massive design flaw that makes it unusable for me needs, you can't quickly and easily drop the arms! Total design flaw IMO. I have my eye on a Mirra 2 instead, as its got drop arms and is several hundred pounds cheaper!!!

I loved mine. Until I outgrew it :D The arms were bad though. Fell apart. If I were 5 stone lighter like I used to be I would probably still have it.
