Ok did a test fit of the monsta and it just fits in the rivets on the top panel of the rad hit the psu but i can fix this by replacing them with countersunk ones, the psu you see in there is not the one im going to put in but it shows me what needs doing. Was going to mount the pump near the rad but it looks like i`ll have to move it. And one with a 140mm yate loon on Psu problem solved Turned the plate around and redrilled the holes now fan at the bottom, just got to cover up the bare bit with black paint.
Got some Lian li vented pci blanking plate`s secondhand powdercoated satin black and i also bought black Lian li M3 case screws. My Lian li Hard drive caddy front powdercoated white and the body painted satin black. Also painted the lower front fan mount. Black set of wheels fitted look better than the stock silver. Top 140mm Aerocool fans with the blades painted white, these fans fit well in the top of the case and i have them both blowing in as they will help move the hot air inside. What the front of the case looks like finished. And the last one of some cable tidying ive done, will take some more tomorrow if i can. Had a problem with my cable and cpu backplate cuts as they where done for the x48 rampage but i have moved to the rampage x58 i had to redo them a bit bigger so i will fit some blowhole trim to tidy them up. Some parts that i got with the case. 6 x 140mm Yate loons. Model: D14SL-12 Air Flow: 46 CFM Fan Speed: 1000 RPM Noise Level: 25 dBA Fan Size: 140x140x25 MM 2 x MeshxPanel (black) like hens teeth to find at the moment. XSPC 3/8" 5/8" White hose. Heatkiller Rev 3.0 LT
Made up some custom cables for my Nexus fans and braided them. 1X 120MM lower front intake 1X 120MM Lian li hard drive caddy 1X 120MM Rear middle outake 2X 80MM Lower rear outake`s Got some white 120mm wire fan grills will only be fitting 2 but i got 1 extra just incase, also some blow hole trim for my cpu backplate and motherboard cuts. 1/4" p clips for cable the cables at the back of the motherboard tray, also ordered 9mm and 19mm for the psu cables, and some 3mm domehead screws/washers and nuts to fix the p clips. Need to braid my 24pin psu cable and both videocard wires ala murdermod
Just what you see in front of you, buying the little bits like cable tie, screws and glue to fix the mesh down at the moment.
Love the color scheme. It isn't done this way much, and the way you are doing it screams class. Nice work!
Looking good so far. I would suggest having the top fans blow the air out of the case, since they are on top, and hot air rises.
sure is hard to find ! i managed to source some from the uk such nice stuff ! the case is really shapping up
Update 21/04/09 Done a bit more to the build. Corsair fan cooler was very boring stock so i took out the 60mm fans and painted the blades white to go with the rest of my fans. I got some 60mm chrome wire grills and painted them white and these will be going on the memory cooler when they are dry. Also painted the rear case catches black as silver looked odd,the silver lian li case screws got a nice coat of paint to. Got a new DVD writer and took the panels off and sprayed them satin black to match the inside. Primer Finished Heatkiller backplate painted white. Now how to take apart a yate loon 140mm. On the back of the fan there is a sticker peel this off,you will find a rubber gromet just pop it out with your fingers. Next is a small plastic circlip, use a small bladed screwdriver to remove and be very carefull as they can fly off. Plastic clip removed, there is a small rubber washer and a metal washer leave them on the fan. Then its just a case of pulling the fanblade away from the main body. 6 140mm rad fans with grey primer. Now the 6 fans painted white, the one at the bottom is for the front lower its a 120mm x 20 yate loon as ive had a idea about mounting and cooling the waterpump in one go. Will cutting the mesh up and sorting out my cables next.
Got working down below in the belly of the beast today. Had a idea for the pump mount, ive had this bracket for a while now and have now put it to good use by drilling and taping M4 screw holes into the front lower support,i can still use a fan(mounted before the grill) as i got hold of a 20mm thick yate loon and will give the pump some cool air. Next is the Bitspower fittings for the rad and pump. Corsair memory cooler with the grills fitted. This is how the inside is looking for now, fear the stock cooler with its dust Videocard cables. Main power cable. Front bay inside. Mesh now fitted and held in place with hot glue. More soon.
May I suggest some kind of clear plexiglass or perspex just to keep dust out, and maybe painting the sound card face plate since it kinda sticks out? Besides that I think it looks great
Amazing work. But I agree with mansueto: Paint that sound card cover. And the graphics card cover too, please. Oh, and no vibration dampening going on for the pump? Or did I just miss that?
