I'm surprised Nvidia and AMD aren't putting more pressure on AIBs to reign in the absurd numbers seen on certain cards (like that GigaRGB one), because lets face it, there is **** all performance to be gained and it does make the GPUs look worse than they are...
TODAY ONLY! Overclockers have an Asus GeForce RTX 3080 Ti TUF OC for £550 (while stocks last) https://www.overclockers.co.uk/blog/get-big-savings-with-nvidia-deals-week-sept-5th-to-11th/ EDIT - I misread the advert
Alas, not quite > First up, we have the Asus GeForce RTX 3080 Ti TUF OC 12GB, priced at £899.99. For today only, you can get this graphics card __reduced by__ £549.96!
While looks are irrelevant, because I don't do case windows, that looks like a ****ing ugly card; even without seeing the other side. Also, 4 slots+?
Well in Nvidia terms it was a bargain tbh. People have long been mad that Turing was too expensive. Fact is? it was just Nvidia doing Nvidia things. They work on a 60% margin, and that hasn't changed for years and years. So whatever they are making they pack together with some VRAM, slap 60% on, and off it goes to OEMs. Obviously Maxwell and Pascal were cracking, because they were smaller dies which are much cheaper and successful than big fat ones. So Ampere in a way stopped people complaining about the price. Problem is Samsung cut them a massive deal, so if Ampere seemed cheap? well now they have returned to TSMC, with their tail between their legs, you can expect these to be bum bleedingly expensive. Amazing how much the consensus is around the net that these will be cheap LOL. No chance. Absolutely no chance.
Hallowed are the Ori. Edit: also, if it's £2.5k for a 4090, that might explain why supposed 4070s have been beating 3090ti scores, because a 4070 is going to be £15-1800. 4010 anyone?
Imo you'll be looking at 2080-ti prices for those. At the end of the day as I said it's Nvidia doing Nvidia things so 60% That includes their AIBPs so they will put their profit on top of that. I'm really hoping the "AMD Maxwell moment" happens. Don't really fancy paying for a load of **** that I just don't need or want.
