scopEDog nice to see you went for the ali top version of the spiral  When I got mine the poly top one was the only one available as the Ali one was still in R&D.

Have you used these connectors on plastic barbs. These would look sweet on my res but everthing else is plastic. Not sure if they would fit the hydor pump either as the barbs are a little on the short side.

Hmm...I haven't tried them on poly barbs but I would think its ok. Btw that clamp is on 3/8ths tygon hose (thats 7/16 size part# 1A-07 on pi-thon.com). If you were using 1/2 hose *I think* you should be able to use the 1/2 (1A-08) but it would be a tight fit me thinks.

I think its time for an update...dont you? ;)

Well next up was the power supplies. I went for 2 vantec stealth 420's:

They came professionally sleeved by phire himself (thanks bro!):

I love the black finish on these power supplies and two is always better than one :hehe:

I took them apart and attached those 80mm-120mm alu adaptors to the back and one bloo antec 120mm fan each. Did some simple wiring to get the new fan to turn on with the PS and voila:

Its so exaggerated..i love it :p I quickly put one in the case to get an idea of what it will look like:

Just imagine both PSU's there mounted...its gonna look sweet ;) More to come!

Are those compression fittings risky in terms of breaking the hose where it screws down?

I'm so tempted to get a sleeved PSU, they look very nice. Not sure adding the fans will increase noise levels? They look a little odd but sure the will look better when they are fitted.

Looking hot - by the looks of things your case will probably survive a direct necular strike...

How are you going to wire the PSUs up? I can't think you are going to be able to use 840W of power... Unless you are going to but them in a redundant array..? I certianly wouldn't want you power bills! :D
(Or did I miss the part where you said you had 10 peltiers on their way to you?)

One thing though could explain the idea behind having what are normally the air intakes going through the PSU... A PSU usually adds the most heat just stick your hand behind the fan on one. This will heat the whole computer up. Also the fan on the top/bottom of the PSU will be configured as an intake...
I'd go with just the LED fans down there and the PSUs at the top.

:thumb: That big fan on the back of that PSU looks great!

You are right Scopedog, it does look exaggerated - but in a totally good way.

Looking forward to the updates as they come ...

Incredible work! I admire the workmanship. Im guessing someone has quite a budget to work with :D . Cant wait to see this one when finished. Somthing tells me its going to require a complimentary case dolly, I can't imaging that baby being able to be lifted by one person alone!

And though it has been already said, My God that is a lot of power :eeek:

Actually, with all those fans and power in there, it is just going to hover through the room on an air cushion. :D
