I had to do a photo assignment (my first ever, so no idea whether I've done it well or not) on "light and form" at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Broad Contemporary Art Museum (LACMA and BCAM respectively). Here are some shot from that assignment: Click to enlarge
Oi, what happened to this thread? I have some night shots to share. First is an HDR of the lamps outside LACMA. I don't have Photoshop, so I did it in Photomatix and I'm not terribly proud of it but it's much better than any of the three constituent shots, so I suppose that's something. The second is just a coffee shop in front of LACMA. I was waiting for the bus, bored and with a tripod, so... Click to embiggen.
Good selection, particularly love the reflection of the three palm trees in the tiles. Often those "seen in a puddle" reflection shots are just about the reflection, but yours has the added interest of the blue/yellow colour and light contrast. Nice work.
First day of having my D3000, and was bored walking home from work. Still need to learn what half the things do >.<
Large Large Large Pentax K-x, Sigma EX DC Macro 18-50 10 sec, 2 sec delay It was really misty last night.
Considered light painting the boats?? would look pretty sweet, faster shutter speed though to balance the light.
It might be difficult to do on my own, standing on the harbour wall for that one and leaving the camera on it's tripod during tourist season is just asking for trouble. I guess I could hit them with the flash next time. I'm rebuilding an old Cobra 250 which has some coloured filters with it, might make for an interesting shoot.
Walking home from work about an hour ago, took these.. And I decided to mess about with my settings.. is it shutter speed or exposure times I altered to get these? Or are they the same thing? >.<
