Sodlering guide please.

 

I would like a guide on volt modding gfx cards!!!! Just to get that little bit extra out of them.

 

What vid card?

 

Well actually I would be more interested in seeing it done to cards like the 9700 to make them into XT's. I know it is possible and I think that would just fit into the extreme sort of style of Bit-Tech. Any card which has been replaced by a slightly higher clocked gfx card.

If you buy a on-off key toggle and a PS/2 or USB numpad you could build one.
Simply wire the key toggle into the 5V line of the numpad.

Then set your BIOS password to a number sequence and enable USB legacy keyboard support

request- Back lighting leters in plastic

I want to build a custom case and I dodn't know if this is the place to request but Can someone do a modding guide on back lighting a word .....

I have seen it down like 3 different ways and i wounld like to know the best way.....


I was thinking about having a sticker made back words and the painting on the back side and then removing the sticker and puting another peace of plastic in back of it with LED's in it but then i got to thinking to hard so i came here for a little help

Wanted, Idiots guide to soldering on pc boards. Like some basic supplies other than the board and solder, iron. like spefic resitors and diodes you use pretty often ect. How you exactly solder on pc board. do you have to etch the copper or can you use the stuff with the copper around the hole? I mean complete idiots guide.

 

PS2 powered mouse recharger

Here's one I really want:
power my mouse recharging station from the ps2 port that it's plugged into.
or take power from a USB port?

Can anyone tell me where the ove-harge protection is? and what voltage is given by a PS2 port?

 

A ps/2 port gives you 5v, same as a usb line. Problem is though, it gives you very little amps, so allthough you've got the volts, you still wouldn't be able to power anything more than a mouse or a keyboard (as they don't require very much power). Theres quite a few threads arround here that deal with it, I'll try an locate some for ya

a guide on how to mod a psone screen for use as a case lcd screen.
that would be super

 

damn, I know I've read an article on modding a PSOne screen into a computer but I can't remember where I saw it. And no amount of googling turns up anything. I think that you can buy an s-video->psone adapter. Then if you have an s-video out on your video card you're set. But again, I can't find the article.

phire has pics on his site of him modding one but pics are useless unless you know whats being done

 

I think that this has been mentioned in the Forums elsewhere, but there is a reasonable soldering / desoldering guide available here:

Click on the 'Pictures' link for more info - I think it is actually more useful than some of the text. If you think it's good enough, it may save acrimonious some work. (although it does lack any practical advice on splicing wires and plastic shrink wrapping, which I feel may be of use to modders)
