heres the idea for the paint job:
ive always liked the idea of racing stripes, but at the same time i wanted a "sprawling" paintjob , one that isnt confined by the boundaries of the case, so.. i came up with this (sorry its kinda Shite, ill try to post up a sketch some time)
Racing stripes down the top and front and branch off the to sides to spell out a llarge "W" and "M" (brownie points to the first person to guess what that stands for)

For the hinged case panel, you could make it a lot cooler if you put one or two of those cylinders from car trunks, so that the panel opens up slowly when you unlatch it, and makes that schooosh sound. Plus, it would hold itself open, so no hood rod getting in the way.

haha yea thats what i though i should do but it turns out the cylinders cost ~200$ each acording to my buddy who instaled a couple in his car -_-, i have a question for yall, how do i get rid of this... waterfall sound from my res lol is the only way to fill it to the top?

200 is way off, dude 20 or 30 would more close to the real stuff,
the problem with thoes rods is that they have a lot o force, i got some around here, you have to pres on them with you're whole body to compres it

you could always DIY make your own, a simple plastic cylinder, closed off at one end (air tight), and have like aplunger in the other open end of the cylinder, then s you close the case it compresses the air inside the cylinder, when you unlatch the hinged door, the pressure exerts a force and moves the case panel open. Depending on how tight your plunger is in contact with the cylinder will depend on how slowly or fastly the case side panel will open.

Ok, so its not as cool as the actual one that would make the cool sound but if you were desperate, it would probably work fine...

*stashes that idea for later mod*

    *kicks self for sharing ideas*

funds are low so this project is on hold at least till friday, its my birthday and im expecting to receive enough money to finish the project, so not much of an update today. I desperatly needed my computer so i just put it in a ghetto setup, mainly composed of masking tape and cardboard boxes :p here are the pics

haha i lied, i DID do some "modding", i installed silver SATA cables for my Hardrives, one of em is still pink cause the WD120 wont accept the SATA2 but all my other legacy SATA drives accept them  no matter, ill just pop off the SATA 2 clip on the last cable and it SHOULD fit :p

That second monitor is JUST for in-bed movie watching?!

Why don't you use it as dual during the day, and then just move it back by the bed before going to sleep.

    ?
both monitors are linked to my PC in a dual mon setup... it just that one is on my nightstand, i like my dualmon setups when the two monitors are not right next to each other
    hope that clarifies things? :)

well i got bored and wanted to work on my PC so i photoshoped a plan so yall can see where this thing is going.
the big black area is the MOBO cover,
white is the areas that are gonna be cut out to acomidate cabling and tubing,
the grey is the watercool tubing,
the red X's is where the reservoir is suposed to be
the red areas on top is where the hinges are gonna go
the white circles on the bottom are holes imma drill to acomidate severl Neodium (AKA rare earth magnets) to keep the PC door closed
EDIT: i measured it out and ive figured that it is impossible to fit in the case, a "car-style hood stick" long enough to keep the side pannel proped up in that position, so im going to install the hinges on the side so the side pannel can swing open like a car door, either ill keep the neodium magnet idea, or ill just use some cabinet magnets
    other things imma do are:
    carbon fiber vinyl the front
    get some custom decals printed
polish a few aluminum peices on the side
add some furniture casters to the bottom of the case

ok i got a few goodies in the mail yesterday and i began work again here are the pics:

heres most of the stuff, small tools and paing supies are still on its way

here are the electronics parts: couple swiches, bag of white leds, bag of blue leds, resistors, solder, etc etc.

ok so i also got the carbon fiber vinyl from MNPCTECH and i put it on the pront peices of the wavemaster
here are some more picso fthe carbonfiber:
:D as you can see, i finaly fiugred out how to use the "close up" function on my digicam

    all the misc cables sleved

and i managed to razorblade the old HS that was on my northbridge, it seems like it was stuck on with some reeally sticky tape, ill be replacing it with a Zalman passive NB HS and getting some arctic silver thermal paste

    now to the garage:
^i lost my work goggles so i used my paintball mask, and i realized this thing is way better than the 5$ goggles i got at the ahrdware store. Paintball mask lenses are rated to last one blast from a shotgun, it covers my entire face, so no more metal scraps fly into my face, and it looks cooler :naughty:

heres the overall shot of the mesh installed this thing was a b**ch to cut without metal snips :\, i had to strap a peice of scrap aluminum on it so that the jigsaw would not completely destroy it

i cut the hole for the barb a little off center, i will fix that tomarrow

heres a shot of the rad hole i cut but never got around to posting a picture of :p

well thats about it for today, heres a little teaser of what is to come
