Hmm black plastic of the floppy looks a bit cheap IMHO compared to the lovely lovely coolermastery goodness all around it. Does anyone still use floppies? Maybe remove it? Or try stealthing it. Looky here

Thanks for the feedback, know what you mean about the floppy mclean007. I wasn't going to bother with putting one in, but my girlfriend insisted (her friend sends her stuff on floppy). I had a look at the link you posted on the floppy stealthing, looks good think I'll have a go at somthing similar.

:jawdrop: The switches look very good indeed mouted, done a nice clean job on it too :thumb:. I am definatly with the idea of stealthing (or removing) the floppy drive, the plastic contrast to the luvly black finish of the case is not a nice one.

    Whats next??? :D

P.S Thanks for telling my where you got the switch's :thumb:

After designing the various lighting schemes and wiring up the switches. I was planning on fitting car windscreen tint and an etch on the case window (a black widow spider), having second thoughts at the moment though.

I'am definitely going to fit a Aerogate II fan controller, as soon as I can get my hands on one, will have to mod it black as well.(unless they release a black version).

I've decided against painting the switches, I agree the contrast looks good and matches the case screws and the metal around the power and reset switches.

Again, any ideas will be welcome, and thanks for all the feedback.

Would be good if you could get some of those same style switches in knobs, and use them as a rheobus style thing.

Heres a quick concept picture of what it should look like once I've modded it black.

    Update.....

Received my Aerogate II fan controller today:clap:

    Heres a pic...

I had two options to make it black to match the rest of the case.

    1. Place a black underlay under the Plex, or

    2. Cut out one of my blanking plates and mount it to that.

Because my dremmel skills are not amazing I deceided to try putting a underlay under the plex to start with.

Heres a picture of the unit disassembled...

I then printed a black underlay on photo quality glossy paper and used the plexi as a stencil, and cut it using a craft knife.

    Heres the finished article...

    More updates once it's installed....

Sorry about the pics [twig]clown, it's a problem with the hosts bandwidth. I've posted the new pics with a different host. If the old pics are not back up by tomorrow, I'll rehost them.

    Thanks for the feedback!

Heres a couple of pics of it mounted in the case, havn't rigged it all up yet.

Don't know weather to leave it as it is, or take of the plexi and spray the alu silver plate black and try to give it a adonized look finish using fine sandpaper to match the rest of the case.

Again, any ideas/feedback will be gratefully received...

I was going to say spray it and see what finish you get, as the plexi does(did) look out of place tbh.

If the paint still looks no gd then you could use a spare drive plate and mount Aerocool on that (yes, hacking an old one apart :p ) but at least then it would fit in perfectly!

    Update....

Just mounted the aerogate in the case...

Looks amazing, it seems to match the original blanking plates better than the coolermaster cd drive bezel!

Just getting all the wires and sensors sorted, as tidy as possible. I'll post a pic of everything switched on as soon as it's up and running. Hopefully tonight!

Just found out that when you reduce the speed of the rear blue lit fan the led's fade (obvious really:duh: ), it's a cool effect and a way of switching off the lights to the fan without switching off the fan completely.

    More soon....

    Thanks for the support guys!

    I got my Aerogate from:

    http://www.overclock.co.uk

Just checked and they are waiting for stock at the moment (about 3 weeks).

As for how much it sticks out from the face of the drive bay. With the plexi front on it's about 5.5mm and with it off it's about 7.5mm.

    Hope this helps.

I'll be posting a couple of new pics soon....
