Impressive stuff Zero Limits. I like all your foam/fibre work... similar techniques to a project I did a while ago with a front panel intake duct, but much larger scale and more elaborate ;)

I'm very interested to see how this turns out. As I sort of skipped over the worklog, I'm not too sure what to expect as a final result, which makes the developments more intriguing.

    Cheers

    Thanks very much!

    Thanks :D

Thanks for the comment. Yea it is great for me to see it coming together as well. Very pleased with how well it matches what I drew up. It will be very loud with the fans at full speed. But with them on a low speed it shouldn't be to bad. I will probably replace the brushless motors with normal 250mm case fans after the event to use the case.

    Thanks :D

Me either. Not long to wait now though, only 22 days till the event.

Thank you! (makes a change from thanks)

haha, not sure about my patience would stretch that far, but yea lots of boring sanding. Thanks for the comment :D

    Thanks GAM,

Will have to see if I can find your worklog (if you did one?) Sounds interesting.

:D Thanks very much, it was a pain to do. Took a couple of hours. Luckily I had my Mum help me by pulling apart the woven carbon to get the long strands I needed.

After I finished them I found another type of matting which would have made the job sooooo much easier. Luckily I didn't have enough to do the whole lot or I would have been kicking myself. Still, if I had found it sooner I probably would have tried to buy some more.

Again, thanks to everyone who commented and took the time to look at this.

It’s finally starting to really look like my drawing!!!!!

Today I spent a while carving out the centre sections so the intake tubes could be joined on… then glued them on. Not much to explain so here’s pics…

Next step is fibre glassing so watch out for another update some time in the next few days hopefully.

    Thanks for reading :D

Hey mate, my effort was not on the grand scale or of the quality of your project, but you may glean a tip or two... you never know. It was my first attempt at fibreglass and creating an irregular duct. I learned alot through that process.

Have a look at my site for 'HTPC Front Panel Intake Duct Mod' as I have not posted that or the full worklog here.

    Cheers

First of all a very late thanks for the comments guys.

In case any of you were wondering, yes I am still working on this :p

Been a little while since I have updated this, it managed to slip to the 3rd page, good to see lots of other moding going on though. Sorry for the lack of updates but I have been busy with building the case, work, spending time with the girl friend and a little time left over for all those things a person needs to do like eating and sleeping.

No time for a full update on all that has been done with lots of pics etc. So for now I will just upload the latest pic of where I am at right now. I will add the missing bits of how I got to here later on when I have more time.

More later, not sure when but not to far off as xLAN is now only 7 days away.
