    hi everyone !

Here is my summer project, called GTR-r,after my previous unfinished mod GTR because i used some of the ideas from it.

I'm building this case because my main computer died and i need a new one.

Anyway, here's what it will look like :
done in 3ds max 2009 with Vray 1.5

i had some better renders but i lost them when my computer died. i will make better ones when i've finished this computer.

here's what it is currently looking like :D

    updates coming tomorrow ! :thumb:

    cheers and please comment !!

I'm also looking for sponsors :)

Looks very nice. What you planning on having in the top section? Cos if it produces alot of heat I would add a blow hole at the top.

Well the plan looks nice. Good to see more wooden cases (I'm assuming the construction material is wood :))

Such a simple yet elegant design, was really praying this would evolve into a build from the render thread :D

    thanks :D

Ang3l :yes, i only use a dvd drive to install windows, so i don't really need one in the case.

BiotecVirus : it won't need any cooling i think, only an aquaero and cables.

Evenge : some sort of plywood ;)

and thanks again to the others :thumb:

the update is coming later today !

I like the design. Simple and elegant. I like the frames around the windows as it gives a nice contrast. Subbed

    UPDATE 1

here it starts, bought some wood for 68.-CHF

and here a picture of the workshop i will be using. +1rep to the person who can identify the bust on the shelves :D

best view ever from a workshop ;)

anyway... started by drilling some holes and assembling the "frame" of the case:

    and this happened :

then repeat the same thing again :

    and again :

    and again :

    and after an hour :

sadly the wood got a bit messed up on the back side, i don't think that it's too bad though :

otherwise i'm really happy with the result:

and now the inner part :

I started by making a piece to hide the cables :

then fastened it to the part that separates the different "levels" of the case :

used my router with this bit to cut it to the right size :

    cutting the second part :

fastening it to the rest :

and quickly attached to the case :

i also attached the right side to the case :
the case is upside down on these pictures.

and that's all for today :) more tomorrow !

comments and questions are more then welcome ! :thumb:

Probally out on a limb here but looks likes Vladimir Lenin on the bust.

Says location Switzerland but I'd have guessed the view from your shop was North Louisiana. Looks like home to me. Except for the style of gutter on the house.
