Ok guys my long awaited project is finally here, but I must say I'm still not sure on the name so if anyone has any better suggestions please go ahead and reveal them.

This all started out as a design to try and really push my skills and the ideas behind a computer case and also as a way of promoting my shop.

The design started off as quite a simple modular idea
    [IMG]

But then it quickly evolved into Modularis Evolution
    [IMG]

So as I have got my workshop all sorted out and ready to mod I grabbed one of my sheets of 2'x4' aluminium and marked it ready for cutting (please excuse the blur i didnt have my tripod to hand)
I quickly got that cut up with my trusty jigsaw and moved onto the bending with my amazing 30" manual sheet metal brake.

So thats one side done on to the next
    [IMG]

I then cut a piece for the top - this will be the removable section for access to the mobo tray.

I then grabbed one of my spare motherboard trays and put it in for a very rough test fit - note it is not going to be that low down when it is mounted.

So unfortunately that is all I had time for today but dont worry I will be doing some more to it on Monday.

Plan for Monday is to get the window in the top section cut and maybe the front and back panels cut.

    Until next time

    Josh

    how about Project OverFlow?

It would nicely describe the watercooling flowing over into other modules :)

Good job and a quick start. Could you show a little more as to how you are getting the bends so precisely? I suppose you are using a break of some sort but I'm missing that somewhere.

Are you staying with the black and green theme? I've always loved a combination of those two colours together :)

Is that little green dot at the front of the large module the power switch? Are you going for a bulgin type switch or coming up with one of your own design?

Which module will the power supply be housed in? I can't see any room for it in the main module unless it goes under the motherboard tray, as you said it would be mounted higher in the final version.

Would it be possible to label what is going in each module? will be much easier for the rest of us onlookers to see where you are going with the design :)

    Thanks guys :thumb:

Yes im going with green and black and there will be a twist to show later on in the mod...

The green dot will be a vandal resistant switch like the bulgins

The psu will be in the lower right hand side module. i will add a labeled diagram on my next update.

Well I'm back for another update, Unfortunately i didn't get quite as much as i was hoping done today but nether the less i have an update anyway.

Firstly here is the top panel marked for cutting out the window.

And after a short session on the scroll saw before filing we get this
    [IMG]

And after a bit of filing we are left with this
    [IMG]
But im not too sure on this i think it may be a bit small for this case and i also havent rounded off the corners so i think i will enlarge the hole and round off the corners aswell.

And mounted to the rest of the case
    [IMG]

Now is the time to move on to the front and back panels so here you go front panel cut out
    [IMG]

Front and back panels cut out
    [IMG]

And then onto the back panel i/o cutout (sorry didnt get any pics of marking out etc etc
But here it is in the vice being filed
    [IMG]

And unfortunately that's all for today more tomorrow.

    Hope you enjoy

    Josh

    promising start.
I have been playing around with a similar idea...but not that many 'pods', just two or three. I'm interested how it'll turn out.
