Yeah, don't let the stars thing bother you, Josh. Some of the people that even take the time to click the project log thread and take the whopping 5 mins. to read the log as opposed to looking at the pics only also tend to expect to see a finished and polished mod right off the bat. So when they just see some bent metal and some shears laying around, they probably tend to think their expectations have not been met, lol. It's just the way some people are.

You're right; if you like the mod, it's what counts!

You'll get 'em in the end when you have it all finished and polished up. :thumb:

This is looking really good. That's a ton of sheetmetal, but it'll end up super strong when you're finished. I can see cable management is going to take some crafty trickery, as BlackWhizz said, but as with anything, patience pays off in the end.

Mod on, you've got my attention :dremel: :thumb:

well unfortunately there is only a tiny update again today as the girlfriend was only working half a day so i was busy this morning! and i need to buy some more alu as i have pretty much run out so im working with the acrylic angle pieces for the time being.

firstly i got the side panel of the pump/res housing secured on to the rest of the module
    [IMG]

i then moved on to the accent pieces for the hdd cage i will let the pics do the talking. i have got 2 of them finished and polished.

Hi guys only got just under an hour to mod today! but will be back to normal tomorrow!!

first things first lets grab a refreshment from my personal stash!
and this is what i get (vodka, strawberry syrup and lemonade :D )

and then i only got a chance to finish up the last two angled pieces for the hdd cage

    And thats it!!

Tomorrow i will get started on the other angled sections and see about mounting these on the hdd cage :D

    Ok guys next update!

I HAVE MY FIRST SPONSOR FOR THIS PROJECT!!!

    and they are.....

    http://www.crucial.com/

Joan from crucial is sending me a 2gb kit of their ballistix ddr2 ram

    and on with the work.

I started working again on the angled pieces for the hdd module and got them all polished up
    [IMG]

I then came up with a way of getting all the holes drilled in the right place
    [IMG]

    and done
    [IMG]

First hole on the hdd module drilled
    [IMG]

Tapping both the acrylic and the module for an m4 socket head bolt
    [IMG]

    first angle done
    [IMG]

    jumping forward all 4 done
    [IMG]

then i just thought i would randomly stack up the pump/res, hdd and dvd modules as they were at the time!

I then got the angle pieces for the dvd drive module cut out and polished
    [IMG]

    then drilled
    [IMG]

    and mounted!

then i thought i would just take the two modules that i had done the angles for inside and weigh them
these two weighed nearly 3 lb together and thats without the ends and the hardware so this is going to be one heavy case!

then i took the hdd cage out of my current case for modification
    [IMG]

I then took my bench grinder to these tabs etc that arent needed
    [IMG]
and to some more bits on the bottom that arent needed and just get in the way

And this is what i was left with.

then i took my dvd drive and marked out the front of the module for cutting
    [IMG]

    and done
    [IMG]

and thats it for today! :D

    Hope you enjoyed it.

I have the same amount of time tomorrow to mod so be sure to check in and see what i have accomplished!
