    Update 27. Aug (Backplate)

So heres the promised Update, but first....

I realise that its sometime ago that i posted sketchups, so here are some new. This is (or should) how the case look like if i would mount all the parts.

Maybe youve already seen, that i changed the rear a little bit from the sketch. I thought the holes would fit much better than the big one.

And here the actual Update pics for today.

    28. Aug (Some eyecandy)

Hi guys, today no big Update.

Actually i only cut a piece of alu.

But today i present some kind of a quick look where i am now with the case (lol i know funny english).

I built the case together and made some nicer pictures as usual. More work for me, just for pics, but i think once a time this has to be ;)

So here are the pics (note: some screws are still lose, so some edges doesnt seem to be perfect)

its looking great! and good job on not cracking the small/thin pieces of acrylic you're working with.

in the fist picture of your most recent update, it looks as if the right side panel is warped at the end towards the camera.

Hi sik, your mod looks great! How did you cut the holes so nicely though, and what tool did you use?

Hi, for the holes (i think you mean the Fan holes) i used a hole saw and much cutting oil (or how is it named?). For the rest i use a jigsaw and differtent types of files.

Sorry no Update today Guys, i did something though, but its not really worth mentioning. The next Update will come when i recieved my shippment of acrylic.

Ok Well, I've been hovering these forums for a while now I I've always wondered:

When making a motherboard tray what do you guys use for stand offs.
    And
Is there anything I should know about shorting/grounding on a homemade motherboard tray?

If you look through sik19's worklog you'll see tha he cut down an old MB tray (and is using the backplate as well) so he'd still have the standoffs from that old case.

Since I'm building a case from scratch (not cannibalizing any parts) I bought a PC screw assortment that included brass standoffs. I merely tapped my acrylic MB panel with 6-32 threads so I could screw in the standoffs.
