Heat Signature: There is something deeply satisfying about having a Deus Ex intepretation of how to achieve a goal. Assassination missions are hilarious. On one hand, I could do this silently, concussion weapons and wrenches. On the other hand I could park a hijacked vessel parallel to my target and bomb the arse off it. Or nail the engines until it drifts, dock and then go from there. It's easy to understand, it's quick game play but damn it is addictive.
Rise of the Tomb Raider as I am trying to find something to play within my collection of around 170 games that I maybe have missed a collectable or two.
Marvel in the glory of PC Masterrace exclusive graphical fidelity: Playing through one of the first games I've ever played in my life again while taking a break from Original Sin 2, Screamer from over two decades ago, the Need for Speed rival franchise that no one ever heard of since NfS consumed all who dared to stand in its path (until EA inevitably ruined it).
Whooaaah brake for the snake ! next corner's tricky ! One of the PC games that actually blew me away. Did you get it on GOG? because it was actually me who requested it. They never had it at first years ago, so I pestered them and they contacted Virgin and got it sorted Such a fantastic game. Edit. Oh yeah, me. Fallout 4. For some reason I felt compelled to get back into my second playthrough as a female. Put in about four hours over the past two days. Midtown Madness with the Sidewinder FF wheel. Hah ! when you bust the car and it starts vibrating ! knocked my Ecig off the desk and the whole monitor was shaking lol. Great fun. Daytona USA (pad) and DUSA DLX (wheel no FF). Still playing. Love my retro rig !
Yep, bought it on gog some time ago, I doubt the original would work on modern systems without the usual gog magic anyway.
I joined GOG the first day it opened and immediately started pestering them for Screamer lol. Let me see if I can get back into my old account to see when that was... Not touched it in years.
Just started giving Toxikk a go and am thoroughly surprised and impressed. For an entirely free-to-play game (that you can optionally buy if you feel like supporting the devs, but as far as I can tell there's no strong-armed incentive to) it's faster, more fluid and has better map structure than UT3. It strongly resembles UT99 with updated visuals and more Quake-style weapons and movement speeds.
South Park TFBW. Really enjoying this. Lots of laughs too, love crapping in all the toilets. Jimmy's is difficult lmao. Yeah so glad this came out at last. The gaming ray of sunshine I'd be longing for since the original.
Theme Hospital. Got it free in ~2013 from EA, just got around to playing it. Last time I played it was on a DX2 66
Yorkshire Gubbins, a comedy point 'n' click adventure. Short - you can finish it in two hours, though it'll take you a bit longer if you're cheevo hunting - but only £3.59, and that gets you a season pass to future episodes in the Yorkshire saga. Disclaimer: 's written by a mate of mine (though I'd still have played it if it wasn't!)
Dawn of War III I was playing the single player campaign over the weekend during the free to play period - got about 6-7 missions in, though if I had had the weekend free, I could've completed it. The developers did achieve their aim in combining the mechanics of the first two games but I feel the graphics weren't noticeably better compared to Retribution. Repetitive and boring. Admittedly I've undergone a change in attitude towards gaming recently, but games like this remind me about how I've regretted playing games to completion just for the sake of it rather than questioning if I'm having fun or not. I might have another stab at it if another free weekend comes up.
Wolfenstein: The New Colossus Somehow, this game is both brilliant but even more distressing and gruesome than The New Order. It's brilliant, but my God it's as dark as Sagittarius A. Also, Rip Blazkowicz, just Rip Blazkowic.
Playing the Starcraft 2 campaign now that it's free. Missions are decent, but the writing is just beyond terrible. Some of those lines... Was there really not a single soul in the dev team with a working internal cringe-o-meter? Was this exclusively focus-tested on 14-year-old boys? From now on I'm just going to skip all dialog I think. Doesn't seem like I'll be missing some revolutionary, insightful narrative anyway.
Decided to play Ghost Recon: Wildlands again as I have nothing unplayed in my uncatalogued at the moment. I see driving is still naff though helicopter control has improved. I wonder if they have done anything with the woeful plane handling?
Star Wars Battlefront 2 after reinstalling windows because of a driver fault. Been trying to get a away with not reinstalling windows after an upgrade.
Mario Odyssey on Switch (so good), Diablo 3: RoS on PS4 & Destiny 2 on PC (mmmm 60+ FPS & G-sync...).
