Revival! Have recently got round to watching this, superb so far, just brilliant. I don't think there's any particular characters I don't like, oh wait no, Dawes, but I guess you're not meant to, so that's still good. The belter pseudo afrikaans is a bit grating at times though. Why are slummy people always south African? Couple of episodes into season 4 now. Spoiler Bobby is now demolition tech 3rd class, is that a red dwarf reference do you think?
It's based on Creole. It's hard to follow at times, but as @bawjaws pointed out that's part of the point
Just about finished book six - Babylon's Ashes - really enjoying it. That's the one thing I don't like about my Kindle - you switch it on and you're straight on to the psge you left it at, which is kind of the point, but you never see the front cover and or title; so you forget. I had to check - I thought this was Nemesis Games. With a book, you never forget the name of it.
My colleagues were urging me to start watching this, and now my better half is really into it. I may eventually give in and start binging, although having watched the first episode (which we did together) I'm not sure it's my thing.
The good news is that they finished filming season 5 before the current plague hit, so that will likely still go out (on Amazon Prime) this autumn.
Cool, will save my lady's free month trial for Picard and that during that period of lockdown. Would probably have to refresh myself with all the other 4 again.
Yeh it's pretty slow at the start. I'm sure they do that on every aeries now so you have to make an effort and watch half a series before you can really tell if it's pants or not, but by then you're invested and are more likely to want to know what happens next. It's basically the only reason we continue to watch walking dead. At least expanse doesn't suffer from the god awful volume leveling (or rather the severe lack there of) the twd does. Whisper Whisper whisper loud noises.
Yeah, the first episode grabbed me too, but I can see how it might put some folk off. Definitely worth persevering though.
More like they are running out of source material and want to actually finish while there's still a plot (cough Game of Thrones cough). I hope it doesn't run into the later books with Laconia and the (massive spoiler characters), it all goes a bit too Star Wars for my liking.
I don't know about 'cancelled', but if they're following the books like they (broadly) have been, then Season 6 is an excellent place to stop the TV series... Fear not though, Season 5 should be bloody brilliant!
I said as much after reading Baylon's Ashes (book six) - It would make a good series finale. I enjoyed books seven and eight, and I will definitely be grabbing book nine as soon as it is released, but the preceeding six were better.
I'll be rebinging all seasons and waiting until this one is done before seeing if me or the missus has a prime offer
