So, I'm a miserable cynic. I've taken most opportunities to have a good old swipe at the corporate whoring, the organisational problems, the political point scoring. Generally agreeing with Paul Theroux when he talks about the British passion for failure and amateurism and expecting nothing less of The Olympics. But, now The Olympics are here, all of that is over and we can get on with watching the greatest sports men and women in the world doing what they do best! All of the misery and cynicism is gone and I'm suddenly massively excited! So what say you Bit Tech? Are you game?
HAHAHA But what about the inspirational montages with dramatic music!? EDIT: That greatest of sporting heroes commentating... Trevor Nelson...
I haven't watched but did anyone expect anything else. Look at the mascots, there so bad even the mac donalds toys don't even function properly. What are they called again, w@nky and w@nkier.
Yeah, too many children. I was thinking that too. It's always like that, presumably it's to do with the IOC being French/Swiss. Also, why is everyone doing the macarena? And this music should be live. BE LESS RUBBISH, FASTER.
Tweet of the day goes to Tim Lusher. "Best episode of it's a knockout ever." "The commentator on Italy's state-run RAI network: "Danny Boyle ... as unpredictable as the people here" From The Guardian.
This ceremony is doing wonders for promoting Mike Oldfield's back catalogue - he should make a tidy sum off the back of this.
