Cheers , 145 now .... Damn it can be addictive when PPD is good, last night as I stop f@h to play a quick game on the i5 rig I was thinking in the back of my mind "I'm losing PPD" (LOL). Just received a Sapphire Fury Tri-X today, hoping it unlocks to a Fury X, will be putting that in the i5 for testing / benching / f@h. Q6600 + 290 (both OC'd) been at it for 66hrs solid now ...
Yes i know the feeling, been folding everyday for the last 60 days. I hardly game on my rig as it is folding all this time!
Not very exciting compared to most of the peeps in here, but I just started folding again after a hiatus of several years, and I've gone up nearly 100 places in the past fortnight or so. I have some plans to increase my ppd over the next few weeks, aiming to get into the top 100. Ironically I have enough GPU firepower to easily net well over a million ppd, but no motherboards or inclination to spend that much on my electricity bill. A fiver a week is plenty for me.
I've replaced my Titan Black for a GTX980Ti. Nice PPD from it. Overclocked it by 154MHz and appears to be stable and relatively cool.
Hadn't noticed that! Looks like we'll be in 7th for quite some time (currently forever!), unless we get some more Folding power ...
No idea what ASIC rating is, but I get 79.5%: I did try +200MHz, but that was unstable. Never tried tweaking voltages. The best PPD I've gotten was around 825K, but that failed at 28% on the work unit.
ASIC rating is the quality of the silicon of the GPU. Higher the rating, fewer impurities. Should mean better over clocking but generally speaking it's just a number. Also, my PPD has dropped right off again due to a rig failure at work
Are you going to mend the rig? You were going great guns before the failure. On a personal note, I made it into the top 20 producers on the team, and also snuck past 10 million points in the last few hours. Since doing this on a shoestring budget, I'm pretty happy.
The bits of the rig that broke aren't mine (PSU and board failure). But as soon as I have enough funds (or work give me the necessary budget) I'll get it back up and running.
