the ivy bridge i7 3770K, but you could still use your current mobo and just update the bios. However, I'd wait for Haswell as that would be a biger performance jump.

You would probably have to wait for Haswell to get a decent bit of a performance bump, compared to going from Sandy to Ivy.

You shouldn't have too much of a wait either (couple of months by the sound of things)

3820 SB-E but you would have to get an LGA2011 board. It's a cheaper chip than the 2700K/3770K but still overclocks. Of course you should wait for Haswell. I'm not sure how far behind IB-E will be.

Apparently IB-E is coming in September with a 8 core SB-E chip as well, with apparently the new Nvidia cards coming either this month or next month.

Although it's all rumours from the net so take it with a pinch of salt as I don't think either Intel or Nvidia have confirmed the dates yet.

nothing atm is a good upgrade over the 2700k unless if you move up to a 6-core, even haswell likely won't be a huge upgrade. the 2700k is a beast

What volts have you got going through that monster overclock and what temps do you get?

And is that your overclock for daily use?
