Dude, relax. Take a breath and count to 10.

I'm a believer, you don't need to convince me. I've had both shots, the first of which made me seriously ill and I still manned up for the second. From the moment I knew I was sick, and not just severe anxiety, as my chums will confirm, I called off all of our arrangements (at 6am, unheard of for me) and have been isolating. Now for 9 days. I am wearing a mask around mum, etc etc. I did the test because Mum has some. It was negative. Did some reading, and I was happy enough to feel that 1. If I had Covid I could well be over it now due to the jab and not able to pass it on any more or 2. I took the test and it could have been wrong or simply far too late yet I have stuck to all guidelines and isolated for 7 days as per if you have had both jabs. In fact, I have isolated two more days (still am, I eat my dinner at midnight after mum has gone to bed) and am wearing a mask whenever I need to go downstairs and make a drink etc.

I am treating every eventuality as if I had Covid. However, just in my personal "know my autistic body" opinion I don't think it was Covid. Far, far more likely to be the super cold that's going around. Whatever it is (or almost was, it's practically gone now) I didn't pass it onto the five other people I was in a room with last week.

    So we're good dude.

Ed. BTW, getting that other test that is much better is not an option. I don't drive, and the nearest place is miles away. I cant ask any one to take me because they are all elderly and I wouldn't pass them a problem, let alone whatever I have.

Morissons do (edit - did :( ) a pizza that blew my mind.

It was really spicy, and they put turmeric into the base dough so it had an incredible flavour. It was hot though, but man it was amazing. Sadly I speak in the past tense, as they don't seem to do it any more :(

Dave Chapelle was awesome - not only did he have a warm up (can't remember her name - only a couple of funny jokes) but Jeff Ross roastmeister general from Comedy Central as compare and Jimmy Carr came on for 20 minutes and Aziz Ansari was part of the entourage! The only downside was the venue was extremely busy (I mean, he was sold out) - but busy in a "I'm not watching the show, just chatting with my mates and yelling out occasionally"... plus, why would you go to a gig like that and then spend an hour going back and forth to the toilets? I mean, I get coke is cheap as chips these days but still... show a bit of respect to the craft!

Kind of bugging me but trying to look on the bright side.

I have a presentation this week and although its virtual, its still in-front of 300 or so people. I have a fear of public speaking so its been grinding me down a bit as its got closer. I was asked to do it about a month back and I've been worrying about it ever since. I could have easily chickened out and delegated to someone else but I chose to press on.

However, the week is finally here to do it. Should get me a few brownie points and ultimately when Wednesday is over, I won't have to worry about it anymore!

Also by doing it this week it makes next week considerably quieter in time for my second session on my sleeve

Well, as it's not actually in front of them, you can pretend that it's just one work colleague! And then picture them naked... or, imagine that it's 300 or so and that they are all naked... whichever is the easiest to imagine. And if you have ever seen that 2006 Japanese orgy video, it shouldn't be a stretch... if you can pardon that pun!

I can relate, I’m terribly awkward around new people and I’m terrible at public speaking or just speaking to a crowd, I seem to develop a stutter I never knew I had and everything I want to say comes out in a disorganised mess.

However, as it’s virtual, can you not record yourself, on your own, at home or wherever, and stream the recording rather than speaking in front of everyone who’s watching?

Pushing 80+ FPS in Destiny 2, max settings @ 3400x1440 on a laptop. I know it isn't exactly ground breaking (especially considering I "only" have a 3070) but its still pretty cool.

That said, the noise... thankfully wearing a headset so less of an issue but wow, cooling ~ 180watts in a relatively slim and light gaming laptop means something has to give (not that any of them are quiet).

EDIT: Scratch that as I am clearly still a complete noob when it comes to tuning these rtx mobile GPU's.

Now running with just the external display (connected directly to the Nvidia GPU) I am seeing clocking in the 90-100 range in the same area I was seeing 75-85 before. It is also a couple of FPS faster than my desktop in the exact same scenario.

EDIT 2: Ok, no idea what was going on yesterday but with the displays set to extend I am seeing the same performance as just the single screen (as I previously expected but wasn't sure if there was a weird Optimus/ Mux switching issue going on).

Additionally a quick Superposition test has seen my score go from a ~6240 to ~6480.

My only thought is that I am messing around with the old cooling stand I have and that might be making enough of a difference to maintain higher power limits and thus higher clocks. Might be a complete placebo but the actual laptop fans do sound a little quieter (relatively speaking of course!) More testing needed I think.

EDIT 3: Yep, its temp and power related. Hitting ~ 130w sustained power today vs ~ 120w yesterday. Same settings in the Medion control centre but they just must not have taken yesterday.

EDIT 4: Looks like it was just power limits not fully taking. The temps were lower with the cooling pad (or at least climbed noticeably slower) but it matched the Superposition score without the cooling pad.

    Definitely more testing required! :)

In a virtual meeting of 300, you can pretty much guarantee that there will be one person with, at the very least, no pants on.

GPU drop at Nvidia/Scan this morning and after missing the boat the boat so many times I finally have a GPU to move on my 1080Ti

Of course probably makes little sense to buy now with the refresh coming but can't imagine the refresh is anything more than a way for Nvidia to raise prices.

    3440x1440 144hz with G-sync working over a £11 USB type C to DisplayPort* cable from Amazon. :)

Considering the spec suggested either 4K 60 or 3440x1440 @ 120hz I am quite pleased with this result. Especially as choosing the "right" cable can be a right PITA when there are so many options all claiming to be the best at everything.

Also the cooling pad I got (some cheapo thing that I mainly got for the adjustability) seems to actually be working. Knocked a couple of degrees off the full GPU load temps despite the GPU boosting to ~1600Mhz (up from ~1550) and the laptop fans not running as fast. Also has some of the worst random English word salad printed on the box.

*Whilst the laptop has a HDMI 2.1 port to theoretically can go G-sync over HDMI my monitor only has HDMI 2.0 ports. Thus 3440x1440 @ 100hz was the limit with no G-sync options in the control panel.

    Please post Engrish pictures.

Cutting my last ties with the church. I haven't believed in years, but play the part here in deep red Alabama. The better half and I just decided the people here are too nuts to care about our health and safety. Here's to quiet Sundays.

In my experience, the more outspoken a "Christian" is, the less Christrian they actually are.
