Disaster What hardware have you broken?

    I get that too, the uv light attracts the Daddy long legs, then they slowly cook as my case temp is often about 45 -50 degrees, as its watercooled so theres a lot of background heat, but very little heat in the NB and CPU

    Well, I havn't broken anything expensive. More old p3 and old powersupplies and such.
    This has also been on purpose.

    i overtightened a swiftech storm cpu block on my dfi lanparty and cracked the board.

    lost lots of stuff through that

    also just broke another hdd by sitting here next to it.

    I destroyed a power supply by having it on without the sides and throwing snow on it, and I've destroyed some other random parts in similar ways, such as trying to fry and egg on an overclocked overvolted K6 without a heatsink, it didn't work, but the capacitors near the socket cooked some of it!

    someone, i forgot at which forum did that, but fried potatos and ATE them.

    i also had a hdd die on me the day after the warrenty ran out. effin western digital.

    That why I have the only bedroom in my house that has a earth leak switch (literal transalition from dutch it probally call something else in english). That shut down the main to my room when more that 30 mA come into my room but doesn't come out the normal. You like get a shock but, but it switches off much fatser then a normal fuse.

    I got shocked will working on my radio, as a reflex in pull me arm away, right in the crown jewels :eeek: . I was floored for quick some time, :hehe:

    I destroyed a HDD (hammer and a dead Windows XP Pro) and a Pentium 3 500Mhz Slot 1 (I pull out a vent that was cooling it :duh: )

    well about 30mins ago i bloody blew up 2 300gb HDDs and a DVD/RW because i rewired a molex connector up the wrong way FFS

    i checked all of the connectors and was satisfied pluged it all in hit the on button nout un plugged the HDDs and Optical which were all runing off one extension and then it works so i went and got a cheapy PSU plugged just the HDDS in to it and BOOM AHHHH

    You were lucky. My friend almost got him self killed because he was looking what was making funny noise in his comp and a part of a disk flew 3cm away from his head. :eeek:

    I have never broken any PC parts, however I have repaired a few things to "decorative status only". :D

    i blew up a pc the other week, wired the molex wrong and bang, up comes the smoke of doom.

    you shouldn't put that many devices like that on one run. thats not enough powere for all three of em.
