not waking up to an alarm on a sunday and monday. seeing my gf on a saturday when she gets off the train when my favourite band is on a guitar or music magazine cover and just spending the next hour reading why
I used to live in a place called Chester, which is in Nova Scotia, Canada. In Chester there is a restaurant called the rope loft, I worked there for a while. Sometimes I would get there early, around 6 am. At 6 am there is rarely any wind, or any other people for that matter. So it is completely quiet. The restaurant is on the water, and the people sit on a dock that is over the water. When there is no wind, the water is 100% flat. No waves at all. So I would go there in the morning, with a cup of coffee, kick my feet up on a table while sitting on one of the deck chairs. And soak up the view of the ocean in a town that is ranked as one of the top 10 most beautiful places in Canada. It is total serenity. If there were ever a reason why I would want to move back to Nova Scotia, being able to do that again would be it.
Waking up at 8AM on a saturday, going to diving practice until 10AM, then falling back into my bed and going back to sleep. Morning workouts are the best way to fall back asleep. Sitting down with a bowl of chocolate milk and Rice Crispies at any time of the day. Hiding in the electronics prototyping lab in our tech building on a sunday afternoon and plowing through all of my homework for the week. It's so relaxing in there, perfect lighting, comfortable rolling chairs, and not a soul comes in there (you need a key). It's always a bit warmer than the rest of the building so I don't need to wear my hat or jacket, and it's pretty much completely soundproof. And then finishing most of my homework for the week is a great feeling.
Textures. I'm that annoying person who touches everything in a store, I love the feel of beautifully finished wood, metal, good quality fabric, stone, rough paper, tree bark, rubber, velvet... anything and everything. The only down side is that it makes it hard to buy cheap things, they're often really gross!
Never heard of anyone liking texture :s , so does latex turn you on huh? Girlfriend and downtempo music with some hot chocolate in this weather sitting in a blanket haha.
I also like driving at high speed (keep in mind that the speed limit here is 100kmh or 60mph, so this isn't really high speed when I drive at 140-150) while listening to great Trance music
-Driving down the city highway with my girl while raining heavily -Pull over and get down the car -Dance and sing in the heavy downpour -Get in the car and have sex while soaking wet -Finally, a hot shower @ home, sleep.
I have another, getting off the train at the end of a long day and walking to the exit on the raised bubble concrete paving slabs (that warn blind people they are near the edge) it feels really nice underfoot and seems to relax me.
Depends on my mood. - Laying down in a field on a warm summers evening, with a small selection of mates (About 4-5), as the sun is setting with a crate of beers, and some smokes - Walking around with no destination at about 3am, going where my feet take me, and thinking life through in my head. - Intelligent, deep conversations, usually supplemented with a few beers
Electronics... just designed a delta sigma modulator nowhere near as good as a comercial ADC but I designed it. I also like my headphones alot if in the right mood like now recordings sound awsome, they may have streached my finances to almost breaking point but they were worth every single last penny. Decent headphones are to me and investment, they will not wear out if you treat them well and will not go obsolete and provide pleasure every moment you wear them. Also I like mountian biking but I haven't done any over the winter so getting back into it is going to hurt alot (I don't like rides where I have hypothermia at the end of them). Also I find my gf amazing she is the nicest person I have ever met.
