TBH I didn’t really want “floating” shelves, I knew they would be a pain in the arse to line up correctly and to ensure they’re straight and level. But there weren’t really many other options at B&Q when I was there a few months ago. I could have built/designed my own, but I was only really interested in clearing some space on my rack shelving - didn’t have the patience for that much faff.

Still, does the job I needed it to, even if they’re not really deep enough for Discovery’s wings!

Sounds like the sort of event that should come with a health warning.

Nobody bloody told me that Charlie Boy is making a Senedd visit today and closing all the bloody roads… My office is quite literally up the road from the Senedd and the roads are already mental…

    I didn’t bloody vote for him…

If it helps, there’s another “80% off seller fees” weekend starting tomorrow. I had an email about it earlier.

Lol I've got £400 worth of penalties because my CGT submission was 'late'.

I mean it was on time. It was chased twice. Then they finally got back to me this year saying they needed a 'wet' signature.

The wet signature was taken as the submission date so I think I'll have to cough up and appeal after knowing how slow they are

Transplanted hair is starting to come out as expected now *sigh* being happy with a hairline and no hat has been nice...

Should grow back by month 2/3, I'm also quite happy with the short buzzed look so I'll get to a happy medium much quicker than waiting for it all to grow out to length.

Not sure watching England play has helped, pretty sure I've lost non translated hair also! not sure what it is, I get completely absorbed by international tournaments so much so I actually feel a slowly building trepedation for Sunday. It's quite pathetic...

Glad the returf is taking and you feel better/less bad about yourself...

    ...also it's only a game.

Not being able to get my knees under the car's bloody steering wheel. I have to twist my feet at awkward angles because it's either the steering wheel or the steering column in the way. Clutch & accelerator are fine, it's the brake that's the really awkward one...

If I've been in the car more than about 20-30 minutes this usually makes my knees ache for a while afterwards. I was driving for four hours today... But I learned my lesson after driving to Newton Abbot a few weeks back: I used the cruise control a hell of a lot more this time!

Also: WTF, Birmingham - who puts ****ing give way lines on a roundabout ffs?! The point of a roundabout is to let traffic flow, so if you're not gonna use them properly then just put bloody traffic lights down and be done with it! Good thing I wasn't doing any more than ~15mph, I had to slam my brakes on hard when I realised that approaching traffic wasn't giving way to me!

I've been to the tip with a load of rubble, they were short staffed and told me "just dump it, no charge". Unfortunately on my way back I noticed the same could be said of my alternator :blah:

I used to live in Birmingham many moons ago and always had the impression the council used roundabouts to dump the excess give way signs and traffic lights they'd over ordered when drunk.

My first experience buying from Vinted: seller sends my parcel to an InPost locker in Huddersfield, meanwhile here's me 300 miles north in the Scottish Highlands ready to collect my parcel from what should be my local 24/7 InPost locker... Big. Fat. MEH.

Good work with the rubble. That's a pain with the alternator.
I use AJW in Wimborne. They rebuilt my starter motor over the winter and are checking my dynamo as I have rebuilt the Morris Minor engine.
They also sorted a replacement boat alternator last month for a friend.

Cheers for the recommendation but it seems some previous owner has fitted a generic unit, managed to get another for £60 delivered.

It outputs a whopping 36 amps, should be good to run the lights, wipers and heater fan all at once!

Great, that sounds a good buy. I don't think you'd get it rebuilt for less.

The guy I use is handy for rare stuff, my 30s Minor is much rarer than Austin 7s of the same age, about 10th of that number
