Thanks! The tea trolley set is like gold dust, very rare to come by!!.......(Argos £25)lol. Cheers, Simon.
Dam you Pete! You are making me work....lol I will have a go at testing it with 1 and then raid 0 to see whether I messed up and should of brought the 128GB SSD for less. But it would be good to know and let other peeps know what is a better setup. Cheers, Simon.
I use a 1080p 32" Toshiba TV and I am perfectly happy, so I'd disagree with you there. Though 63" does seem ridiculous for anything other than games/movies. Oh, and using 3x 580 to run at 1080p ??? That is insane I'd imagine every game in existence runs at max details with 32 or 64 AA and 60+ FPS at that res.
btw, just to make it clear, I am not criticizing the OP at all. Rather being green with envy instead. Though running that kind of horsepower on a 1080p seems a bit of a waste. I remember seeing some info on Super HD TVs, it was either CES or Cebit. I think they were supposedly "4K" screens (not sure what the actual res was, just the 4k bit stuck in my mind). Are those commercially available or just trade show models for willy waving. I'd guess those will cost well in excess of 10k £, assuming they are even for sale. Something to think about if you have too much money A quick search in google returned two 4k screens, including one by Sony with a supposed price tag of 76k $. But that was an old article by Gizmodo and Sony's UK website doesn't show any 4k TVs. Time to start saving those pennies then for the time when they become available eh.
You all should read post #19 on page 1. This will give you the information of why I am using my TV at the mo. Cheers, Simon.
I ordered it all to come on Thursday, as I wont get home from work till late Wednesday night as I work away. (I did state this in a post earlier on). Cheers, Simon.
Home now. Feels like Xmas eve tonight....Hope DPD bring my 990x and SSD's early tomorrow....(Kneels down and preys lol).
4K TVs are not available to consumers yet. This is from Maximum PC: Production cameras that can shoot in 4K starting to become affordable only relatively recently (in the past few years) with the invention of the Red One camera. When do we get to see benchmarks for this epic rig?
Haha, if only every evening could feel the same. Definitely looking forward to seeing some benchmarks on this monster... Good luck with the delivery!
