2 steps forward, 3 steps back time again...

    :duh:
-OK... I cut the hole for the 2nd radiator.
    -Everything fits.
-Now here's where the full scope of my psu screwup finally sinks in. The SR1 360 radiator and the 240 should sit in line with each other, and the PSU draws air through one of the 240 holes...
-Only my dyslexic *ss not only flipped the PSU template, but the entire layout. The PSU should be over the radiator.
A re-design is out of the question. The mounts for the radiator and harddrive cage clash with each other like this. If I flip the panel to match the PSU, I am against the motherboard tray.
Also the swapped layout destroys the placement of the wiring duct.

My options are to start over, or chop the panel. Both suck.:wallbash:

Thanks again to my sponsors. They are the only ray of light in this dark post.

I frequently do the same when responding to emails...

Oh man Cheaps... I'm sorry to hear of your discovery. :(

Surely a day's break and a fresh perspective will do the trick. If I were a betting man, I'd not only say you'll figure it out, but the result will add to the project!

That's bad luck cheaps. I too have made some colossal F***ups, The PSU cover and
central spine, the back plate, I just finished cutting and filing the mobo cover and the
very first bend was in the wrong direction :duh: The bottom line is, if you can fix it
and you don't have a little voice always nagging at you :hehe:, good.
Otherwise it's best to bite the bullet and start over.

    Thanks.
I will chop and flip the top section. I think I can add a bit of 1/4" to fill in the lost material and make it double as a support for the inner baffle.

:D I'm used to it at this point. I make the craziest mistakes bouncing between too many projects at once.

-I pulled the drill out for some countersinks 'n stuff. Don't you hate it when you find out you can't reach all the holes.
-I drew guide circles to keep me from boring too deep with the hand drill.
-I finished up the pump top today. I had to drill out the mounting holes to fit 8-32 screws. The bit screamed while boring this one. That was new... Not very pleasant, either.
-I tapped out the top part. I found a new 'tap wrench' the other day.:D
    [IMG]
-OK... Here's the instruction manual for whoever gets this... The screws go through the bottom with some foam grommets between the case and this part. (I gotta buy some longer screws for this thing...)
-Then add rubber grommets to the screws... (The ones in the pic are foam, and are a little too thin. You are stuck with the ugly rubber ones I made earlier.)
-Then you add the pump, then another set of grommets, then screw the top piece on. I'm supplying stainless steel screws, and you should be able to cut them so they don't stick out easily.
-A face on shot to show various imperfections. I should have cleaned this sucker first. There's still polish residue and oil everywhere.
-Underside shot shows some nice color transition of the layers, and polish residue in the intake. I'll get that out later.:D
    [IMG]
-Here's a shot with some barbs and 3/8"OD Tygon. You can see the foam isn't thick enough here, and the fins touch the tube because of that.
OK, I'm going to go tell the MNPCTech design competition #3 that this is part of the prize pool.

In the mean time, visit my sponsors.:D

@Fisher - Aww, I didn't think it could be taken that way.:wallbash: Where did you even find the quote from John?!?!?
You better pray no one goes through every thing you said, quotes it randomly out of context, and creates an uber-gay statement.

In the "first post" thread. I left the post links in so people would know I wasn't making these up :D

It actually happened more by accident, but I must say it worked out quite well! :hehe:

Bring it on, Cheaps! Do your worst! It's the internet, nothing is sacred here!
