Oh phew. I can chill then. Although I can barely scrape 570 horsepower out of these, so there's no way on earth I can join this club with these cards.
That extra VRAM makes a hell of a difference. Here's mine (2x SLI) at 865. and for the purposes of scaling... 1x 580.
I'm surprised to see the 570 do so well; it's very close to the 580, much more so than the 480 is. Loving this thread - very informative.
Really? I must admit that in most situations SLI Gigabyte 460 oc comprehensively beats a single 580 in almost everything I have tried apart from games that need more V ram... That is with clocking the nuts off both setups. 2 x 580 will be a different matter *licking my lips*
You think? I wouldn't have thought it would have made that much of a difference at 1920 x 1080, in a minute I'll try running at your clocks so we can compare
580 users doesn't seem motivated to overclock, compared to other card users. come on! everything stock, CPU and GPU, RAM at loose 1333MHz 9-9-9-[can't remember]: very interesting min-FPS doesn't affect the score, in comparison to Pooky. but min-FPS does seem to be relying on CPU as well as GPU. CPU/RAM not changed, overclocked at 925/2100, high-ish overclock that i know will work first go: i usually keep system at stock, since don't see point of having OMGHz frequency in every day use sacrificing energy efficiency. hence the relaxed RAM and CPU speed, didn't bother to boot into my zOMG profile.
For Referance Pookey appears the extra vram does make a difference, temps never went above 25 C I love watercooling and at my max overclock 1.075Ghz
In Non-antialiasing tests; these can boss a typical 570, but when AA kicks in; they start to fall behind. I used a friend's 570 Phantom for a comparison point, so It's not a slow setup, but it's a touch slower than I'd like.
I just had a Crysis hour run @ 925 Mhz 1150 mv with high fan speed, 74c max, 70 c settled. Very impressed. 2 of these is gonna be a beast, can't wait
That's all the settings maxed in Afterburner. Looks like I'll have to flash the BIOS ro achieve higher clocks. Oh and that score is exactly the same with my CPU at stock as it is with it 3.8GHz. Edit: Oddly that's only 1 point more than I got with the GPU at 825/1650/1900
Here's mine (2x SLI) at 865. Here is dead beat's What gives? I assumed the 3GB cards were just better, but these seems to be 1.5GB cards too. I'm baffled. I know his are at 950, but.... @dead beat. Can you run that again at 865/1730 clock/shader with vram at 2103?
Can people post the voltages they are using for 920+ core on a 580... I have got 925 stable but would be interesting to see what others are doing voltage wise (including those that are watering )
maximum voltage Afterbuner allows, with maximum fan speed. after all, overclocking is only good for benchmarking so just go for it. no point overclocking for every-day usage IMHO.
@ Pookey, dead beat is using the most recent beta driver which could explain the extra performance. I'm going to install it now and see what difference it makes. One oversight in these comparisons is that the 580 users all have different drivers installed 285.62 (WHQL) 290.36 beta 290.53 beta 295.51 beta Perhaps if people could state what driver they are using when they post screens and that will make the comparisons easier.
