You are really right, it seems easy to see the photos, but in reality every modification requires a lot of time and attention to have the best results.


Here are another update, the second part of the side window!

After cutting the window hole, i have to cover the gap between the black shield and the metal panel (red line).
So i take a 3 mm forex sheet and bend it with heat to follow the S shape of the panel.



But before set it, i've make the clear plexiglass window


And then with the window installed i finished shaping the forex sheet, wrapped in matte black and glued to the black shield.



I've made also extra screws points to fix the metal panel to the shield, using m3 stand sticked with epoxy.



The original Alienware plexiglas panel was also shaped and the RGB LED bar fix with little screws in the new position.
On the left and on the top of the picture, you can see black sheet, they are always PCV forex, i've made them to cover gaps and metal panel parts.

 

Finally i've wrapped all the black shield with a special vinyl with honeycomb 3D texture that create a mix of reflections dark and clear!



And this is ready to install! One of the first part 100% done!

Painted all the metal in black, and deep polished the Alienware plexiglass!
For now, i keep the lower black shield without wrapping, because i like the difference in colors.

Today i will show a special part that i realized for this mod! Also there will be others special parts in the future!
I like recycling things from all over the world, so i found this component, it's a metal ring of an electric industrial motor 220V / 380V, and when i saw it my imagination started....




So i started to mod it, cutting some parts and sanded all


Painted in metalized silver


Added a blacked out RGB LED strip


Cutted two round of plexiglas and wrapped with mirror film


And that's it! Infinity mirror! But it's not finished, tonight i will post more!

I've made an hole in the back side of the ring


Placed in the hole a LED strip


And designed and then laser cutted a new plexiglas ring...
Also glued the LED strip on the back of the mirror


Another parts recycled from my old case from 2010! Side panel clips! (in red squares)


Painted in matte black


And this is the finished result! So i have make an Alien portal, so aliens can enter in their base! LOL!
(don't care about bubbles and scratches, they are on the protection film)


This is what my imagination saw when i saw this old motor ring frame in the trash!


This portal will be placed on the right of the MB, over the wires cover.

In the last weeks i've started the painting process of some parts that are finished, and it take a lot of time, filling, sanding, apply primer, apply base coat (here in the picture), sanding again wet, dry, etc....

 

Yep that's exactly why I really don't like painting job.

But have de to those boring stuff for good quality
