One more step. The other side shield and details. Still left some work with kitbashing. Inside there is mesh like in the other side. While doing that i drilled my finger a little... Its fu*ki*n* @#! painful, but don't worry, was 1mm drill and tomorrow will finish this side . More to come.
Good and bad news... I`ve finished the other side. The white spots are epoxy to cover imperfections and screws. Also i`ve started the top decoration. First steps in the top. The main shape is to cover the fillport tube. I think i`ll end the decoration work and began the paint work this weekwnd. Well, the bad new. Very bad new to me. This afternoon i`ve powered on the pc and realized the temps was high. But at five o`clock here the ambiemt temp is almost at maximum. The problem was in the VFD, pump reading N/A. My mpc350 seems to be die. I don`t know why and how it happens. I`ve tried with other molex, it makes (i feel) a "click" and get warm within minutes, but don`t move water. I`ve used this pump sice about 3 1/2 months in discontinued use. So i cant belive that. Also, i`ve tried to blow the tubes for check am obstruction in the pump, but the air pass to the exit... I don`t know... So, that my problem. What do you think? I should order a new DD 12DCC pump (Not another from swiftech) that is a expensive solution (75euro + shipping) or back to air cooling (AGP included with zalman vf700 for example, if i can fit it in). To make the problem bigger i have a LAN in 15 days... Some days is better don`t wake up, until the next day.
My pump did that too, I took it and banged it a round (gently) and it started working. I don't know what the deal is, but I hope it doesnt do that when its all assembled, because I dont have access to the pump once everything is together in my shuttle. You could go with the air cooling, or if you dont what that pump anymore, try that C-Systems pump
Yesterday, late, i dismantled the system to extract the pump. Then i open the pump and cleaned it. Maybe some oxidation has blocked it because after that the pump come back to run. Today i'll do a deep clean and check the mix proportions of distilled water and anti-freeze. Or search other aditive.
Some pics of the top decoration, finished yesterday late night. The next step is the paint. What do you think? Today i`ll begin with the paint job and maybe add some details more. I`ll pic some pic more this evening.
Crimson Sky is a master, like Mashie, they are two of my inspirations fonts like the rest of you. I belive, any modder can think (and make) great ideas. Anyway i've painted miniatures and models since child, although i wish my skill will be high as Crimson Sky. But, do you like it? When painted it will look better.
The paintjob has started! With the same colour in all surfaces, the hull looks better Black primed. Some putty and sanding work. The base coats with Mat Dark Grey (Duplicolor Spray). I left some darker spots to improve the "space ship" look. Tomorrow will be the day with the small brushes and miniature paints, for the details. After all it will be aceptabily good looking. More soon.
Looks awesome man. I love the paint look. Maybe you should take some plaster and sling it on there to make it look dirty looking Then paint the plaster tan brown so it looks like mud splatters.
Very, very cool. I was sort of skeptical when I saw the unpainted pictures, but the uniform coat of paint really makes it come together... (...duh...I've done a bit of model building, I should know these things...) Having the front more spaceship-like - a more pointed nose or something - would have been cool, but it would also have been a lot more work!
That's some fine work - the shaping on the hull with the fine details are rather excellent. Plus we all love WC'd shuttles.
That looks amazing, the modeling is great and the paint's had a great start. This is an impressive mod. Kumo, do you do alot modeling (ie. model airplanes, warhammer 40k, etc)?
Kritkit@Thanks Cysus@Starwars models overall, warhammer 40K (Blood Angels mainly), plane models (i love WWII planes) some car model and a lot of miniatures of diverse types, are my paint curriculum but my skill has a weak point, my patience (and maybe my room's space XD ) Lottaro@If its the Nostromo, maybe i must talk with BootUpBudha to get a mini black-box XD I'm just paintig details. I hope, this night can post the first pics.
another thing that would look cool is to put two antenneas on them just like bradley tanks have but instead of pointing them straight up have them slop back at a 45 degree angle. That would look great and it would break it out of that squarish look it has. Like this. http://www.3-d-models.com/3d-model_files/br1.jpg
I have plane to put some short antennas more, but since it isn't a tank (the twin las cannon was a real option for some days) that big antennas don't match with the thme, i think. But i'll study that... never knows (maybe a new wi-fi system? )
