    I just stumbled upon this...

Knowing that a good number of people on the forum have played and enjoyed the first two and have gone back for me, thought I would make a thread about it.

It looks pretty good, though it seems as though it might be a bit more about the killing everything in sight (like Prototype) as apposed to a purely story driven game that doesn't require basically button mashing.

    Discuss.

Interviews from developers said you're going to be able to chose to do things stealthily and such as well if you wish.

Not sure how well that's going to be done, but from what they've said, you can specialise in stealth (i.e. put almost every point of XP into stealth) and still go through the game. So hopefully they've done that bit right and it's not just a spinter cell conviction style; you can do some bits stealthily, but you still have to kill everyone, and you'll probably end up not being stealthy anyway cos it's easier to go in guns blazing.

And from what I've read, Squeenix's involvement in the game has just been putting together that CGI trailer based on what Eidos told them they wanted in it. So it shouldn't be JRPGified at all.

I think it will be a good game, perhaps a disappointment (actually probably a disappointment), but it should still turn out to be one of the better games coming out I think.

My friend is building a new PC just to play this game (admittedly he's only spending about £500 inc a screen).

I really hope its not a disappointment if just for his sake.

To be absolutely honest, I'm not a fan of a lot of Eidos work, so I've got a bad feeling about this one. I think Bioware would have done such great things with this licence.

After "invisible war" I have low expectations.

I loved the 1st game, and the second just crushed me.
    Seriously.

After months of expectations, to be given such an appaling, dumbed down game was a crushing blow.

    I expect rubbish.
That way if I get rubbish, it's only what I expect.

If DeusEx3 is half as good as the 1st I will be over the moon.
I would love to se the "true" DeusEx world in top spec hardware, with the infinatley flexable twisting story line of the 1st.

I hope to be blown away.
    I expect to be disapointed.

Don't hope it will be good because that will lead to disappointment. It's never going to live up to expectations of the first game, and even half as good will still be a disappointment for most people, IMO, IW was half as good as DX.

Loved the original, never really tried the second a demo put me off.

Tried to play the original fairly recently without success, it just ran too quickly and so none of the dialogue finished. The graphics have not aged well either.

If I ever need to go stay with my parents for a couple of days Ill take Deus ex with me to play on my old machine :) .

That's probably down to having a multi core processor, if you don't know how to fix that:

Task manager -> Processes -> Right click DX's process -> Set Affinity -> Uncheck boxes until only one core is left checked

There's also a way to automatically set core affinity on a shortcut but I've forgotten how to do it.

Not even a Hyper Threaded CPU? That could cause the same problems.

If I find there's a problem with a game running too quickly, I usually find it's because of multi-core/HT.

    Wow... just wow...

What a site, it looks so awesome, and the little game is pretty fun.

Just seems to be an overview of the augmentations most from the old game plus some arm blades like in assasins creed.

Notice looking at their timeline page the seem to be using an alternate timeline to ours either that or they forgot Pistorious never even beat the qualyfying time for the Olympics let alone the world record.

First game was a landmark in gaming, it was awesome. The second game wasn't nearly as good but I still enjoyed it. I'm hoping (realistically) this will be somewhere between the two.

I can't wait for this, will it be as good as the first game? Probably not story wise, but I think this is going to be a very enjoyable game. It should be a lot deeper than most of the stuff we get these days so compared to most things we're playing now, it should be a treat :D

ARGH! Is this not a rule of the forum? Once Deus Ex is mentioned, it MUST be reinstalled and played through? Steam is re-downloading it as we speak... I hope that DE:HR lives up to the original.

I assumed this would be rubbish and totally dumbed down like 99% of new games, but the more I see of it, the more it looks surprisingly good.
