Yeah and I might have to make my own southbridge as well because I will be using the Gene Rampage III. Luckily EK released a full block for the NB and mosfets :)

Where to start? Thats what I was thinking earlier today. One of those was housing my CNC...one of them.

I was within 50kgs of the max that thing can haul!

And here it is, cling wrapped. First obstacle, entrance door.

We were 120mm from clearing the door so the cutter head needed removal and damn was that thing heavy.

Placed some MDF down to protect the cutter surface.

Whats that? A door that we cant get through? Muwahahahahhahaha!

    Ah yeah...

Okay, this is the money shot. You can see the two vac pump outlets for both suction points. The suction points go into a grid area that spreads the pull all over the table. It goes vac point>grid>MDF>object to be held down.

The two vac pumps, these max out the standard 240v power outlet, not nature friendly :)

Suction grid, I really cant wait to test it out!

The new factory, still a bit off completion yet. Supposedly everything will be done next Tuesday.

Not too much longer before this project starts, once the machine is up and running and I move in, Kyubu starts for real.

nice rig mate, once I get my college loans taken care of, and I get a place of my own a CNC is one of the first things I plan to purchase. I'd love a 5-axis but I'm not sure the budget or my girlfriend will approve :hehe:

Really looking forward to seeing this get under way!

I'd settle for a garage, as it is I have to work in the garden, weather permitting.

Well, yeah a garage is good too, even one with minimal space :).
Why not get a shed Jeff, better than relying on english weather lol :wallbash:.

I have a shed and a garage. The shed is way to dusty (thanks to the tractors and crap) to paint and I'm not aloud to paint in the garage. I just mod where I can. I'm lucky though, in Australia we only really get copious amounts of rain in the winter so I can mod outside if I need whenever I want. Summer is just around the corner so time to get modding :D.

5 axis is crazy and there are very few times I would even use a 4 axis :)

Ho ho ho thats a secret, lets just say....LOTS!

Haha yeah it will be quite cool when I move in, until then...not so cool.

Haha I dont mod for a living, I make physical signage for a living. I just happen to like modding as well. MNPC Tech, now thats the dream haha.

Integrated res looks like an awesome but risky idea. I look forward to seeing how this turns out. How come you're using silicone instead of an o-ring? I thought o-rings were supposed to be better. I'll be watching bro.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but this machine looks smaller than the one it replaces.
Anyway, I'm watching with interest at how your factory/home set-up goes. Looks
    very cool.

This was something I did a considerable amount of research on and after many calls I realised that finding a company that would do a single run of a custom sized o-ring was just not going to happen.

So I devised the current design. The silicon I am using is the highest grade possible and is often referred to by plumbers as the closest thing to liquid rubber. Its used in high capacity fish tanks often :)

I remill the silicon after its cured in 4 days so it is completely level, of course I will be testing this sealing method on a smaller scale beforehand.

    Hi Attila,

I have too much respect for you to tell you that you are wrong haha. The machine has the same dimensions as the previous machine and is essentially the same model with a few notable improvements that will save me many, many hours.

    1. Two Vaccuum Pumps pulling 4kws and 51 amps each :)

    2. 4kw spindle

    3. Higher grade stepping motors :)

Some types of silicon turn yellow-ish after being exposed to air for some time - have you considered this?

Yeah that doesnt happen to this silicon, its used in aquariums for decades without discolour.

As you guys know, I post heaps of vids up about my mods. Recently I did away with my old digicam and went full crazy with a HV40, Wide angle lense and stabiliser. I thought I would do a video to show its quality and review the wide angle and if you are interested, feel free to check it out above.

I will be using this camera on my youtube channel from now on!
