After waiting too long for a waterforce 5090 I decided to just go ahead and get a 5080 as I wanted to put the rest of my bits together with a new GPU

Palit 5080 gaming Pro, on the cheaper side of 5080s fingers crossed it is not rubbish, should hopefully cope with 4k a bit better than my 3080Ti.

Wow, that brings back memories of playing Heimdall on my Amiga - fantastic game.

Unless my memory fails me, it was also the first game played on GamesMaster back in the day - the hair-chopping minigame, anyway!

I initially thought it was a case and spent more seconds than I care to admit wondering why it has a ball of wire or something stuck on the front

They certainly do seem like a solid printer. If I had the patience for a 3 month wait, I’d have got one myself

But I’ve been pretty satisfied with the Q1 Pro, tbh.

You'll enjoy it, it's a really good printer. They'll be launching the filament switcher for it around the time yours arrives.

In other news, I've joined Meaco's fan club  with their Sefte 10 model.

This the one that is £300? Very interested as I want to get into 3D Printing.

Yes, the printer is £300 + shipping (~£20 iirc), if you don't buy an accessory pack. I think I paid £425 all in, which includes extra filament, build plates, hot end etc.. but it's not coming till August so I just stuck it on the Paypal pay-in-three option.

Aye, you’ll usually want a pack of extras if it’s your first printer. Spare print beds, spare nozzle, possibly a hotend. And filament, of course . It’s often cheaper on shipping to order it all at once. I need a new print bed sheet for my Q1 Pro, which costs about £25; I can’t tell if the ones I find on Amazon are legit or even compatible, and Qidi want £20 shipping.

FYI - Elegoo don't sell just nozzles for the Centauri yet, only complete hotends (in 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 & 0.8mm - 0.4mm is supplied with the printer), and everything is pre-order only right now.

    New torch, because n+1:

Olight Arkfeld Pro. The "Racing Stripe" version was cheaper than the black or green versions, and the orange had already sold out so... yeah. Racing stripe it is!

There's a white LED good to 1,300 lumens (briefly) in turbo or 435 lumens on high, a 900mW UV LED, and a laser pointer - which, in this UK version, has been powered-down to meet Class 1 requirements, so it ain't as powerful as the international version (which is, I believe, Class 3).

Yes, the Arkfeld Ultra is better. It's also more than twice what I paid for the Pro...

Does a bundled freebie count as a purchase? Missus bought a 5070 and got this game with it, not her style so it ended up in my library
