Some little update, i finished the bracket for the reservoir.
I've make two hole in the bottom part and then I threaded them for M3 screws


So now the reservoir is perfectly fixed to the radiator, of course i will replace the screws with black ones in the final assembly!



And now guys the final special part of this project....can you spot what is this?!?

 

Looks like a Dyson vacuum cleaner part, well if it works for your project why not?

 

That's really a strange item , I have no clue what it is but it looks like an alien thing

And yes guys, I see it was easy to guess! it's the main part of a broken Dyson vaccum cleaner!
I love the design of these vacuums and this particular part look very Alien, coming from space! So i had the idea to recycle it in my project!

I disassembly the "alien object" and removed all the interior unnecessary parts with dremel, to achieve the maximum space possible.
It's really incredible how the space obtained allows the insertion of a 7x7 cm square object....




....and you have to know that 7x7 cm its the exact same size of the waterpump!
So here it is, we have an alien pump cover!



To cover the big hole in the top, i've make a thin sheet of lexan and wrapped it black.
And it's again incredible that all its centered, so the hole in the top it's exactly on the pump IN hole!

 

I love the idea! It's a really cool way of getting shapes into mods.

 

a cousin I'd say if it was cheaps brother he'd be making the thing...

Hi guys, i'm back after some days of pause! (and i think i need some more holiday!)
So now i need to start to make a little cable management and installing some parts, so first i've fixed in place some cables and installed the rear button for LEDs.
I've also completed two other cover for the left side

p.s. the mainbord it's just for test, it's my old broken X58

Other work i've done, it's to complete the other side panel of the case, the original Alienware plexiglas panel. Starting with deep polishing


After, i need to find a way to give it a new look, because initially on the back of the panel there was a glossy black cardboard, but i don't like it, so i decided to try a mylar sheet recycled from a broken 27" LCD


And turned out to be a great idea, because this sheet create a beautiful aluminium effect! it's difficult to show in the picture, but you can compare with the aluminium feets.

I was looking again at the LED diffusers on the front panel ; a very smooth and still bright diffusion. I would like to do something close. Could you share some more details please?

• how dense and bright is your led strips?

So it's made with 2 standard clear PMMA rectangles and one satin/opal PMMA rectangle right?

• the satin ones have been brought cut or you've made such clean cuts with a dremel?
• The glue to make the 'sandwich' doesn't interfere at all with the lightning diffusion?

• and you finally just used hot glue for the led strips on the clear ones?

Yes of course, i will try to solve your doubt.
The LED strip are standard SMD 5050, 60 LED/meter, but you can find also better strips on aliexpress and also ARGB with very close LEDs chips. I attach a picture of them.

Yes it's standard celar PMMA, and the output rectangle it's just sanded with sandpaper, but you can also buy the version already in satin/opal.

I've cutted all the parts with dremel, it's not important the cutting, because after i had to sand them.

You have to pay attention with glue, because if you put it behind, you will see the glue through.
The "sandwitch" it's just glued on the top and bottom, only with hot glue and some epoxy glue.
