    Project BatCase

    -Introduction
    -What's the plan?
    -Construction plan
    -Materials
    -Hardware
    -Updates

The time has come to build a new casemod. Jurgen from Point of View has given me a green light to start this casemod.

This casemod will be a demo-case for Point of View at Cebit 2006

    What's it based on?
As an inspiration I'm going to use the Point of View bat which is on the box of a 7800GTX!

    Construction plan

The bat will be placed on a pedestal, this will be a piramid that will be covered with a rocklike structure. The colours of the box will be re-used.
Inside the piramid will be some hardware and a part of the watercooling.
The bat will be attached to the pedestal with an iron tube (welding).
The hoses of the watercooling and the necessary wiring will go true it.
In the body of the bad will be the mobo, behind the shields on the bat.
In the head, in the place of the eyes, will be 2 reservoirs.

    Material

-Several colours of plexiglass. (Shields and mobo must be visible)
-Leather for the wings and part of the body.
-Preformed shape to pour little rockcubes.
    -Iron to make a frame.
-You will see how I'll build it during updates!

    Hardware

    -Videocards: Point of View 7800GTX
-Psu: Be Quiet Dark Power 600W
    -Watercooling: Innovatek
    -Cpu: Amd type?
    -Mobo: Epox EP-9NF4 SLI2
    -Mem: Corsair XMS Expert
    -Harddisk: ?

    The Beginning

    The base of the piramid

A few dots and it's already looking better.

This is where the cd-rom will be placed

After some work with the Dremel :dremel: there's a hole for the cd-rom

And it fits. I don't weld everything because of the tension in the material.
Everything will be covered with rocks anyway. The space between the base and the tilted sideplate is for airflow.

This is how it looks like from behind, I only placed half of the panel there to see if the psu would fit. This isn't the actual hardware, it will be replaced soon.

    More updates soon! ;-)

Looks like a good start...nice clean pyramid. I'm extremely interested to see how you plan to recreate the bat...

BTW, I have to admit I was expecting a Batman theme...but this looks cool.

Welcome Ediejo. I see you found you're way to Bit-tech too. This is a mod I will watch closely. Ediejo is known for some very good mods in Holland, so I'm sure this one wil be very good too. Promising plans you got there.

    Impressive hardware those 7800 videocards!

@Pete_Venkman I build that with my hands, from steel. Afterwards covering with several material leather and plexiglass.

@Franklin thanks for the welcome, and yes i will show this mod on bit tech, because bit tech was for a part an inspiration for me first casemod. I think the idea is orgineel I can place it also on bit tech. And publicity for Point of View and Innovatek

Surprisingly few reply's, knowing that Ediejo is a modder well known in the Netherlands. His previous mod (that maked him "famous" ) is this one: Clickie
I heard it's going to be huge, having the motherboard, radiators and the sli gfx cards inside the bat. Nice

    Dutch mode:
Kvoel me vereerd om beetje aan je TS mee te mogen geholpen hebben (samen met tim) en keep up tha good work.

:worried: The bigger the challenge, the greater the fun HUH?

You have to have modded balls to try to build that...

I wish you good luck senjor.

Due to illness I haven't been able to do any work on the casemod, I don't think I will work on it this weekend either, so a real update will be after this weekend. The watercooling is ordered though, this will be the set up:

    CPU cooler, the red one:

Chipset cooler: again, the red one:

Radiotor: 2 radiators, one on the left, and one on the right of the mobo:

Reservoir, These will be on the place of the eyes:

2 pumps, these will be inside the piramid:

    Plugs:

    Watercoolingtubes, again the red one:

I wanted to wait to 1 Jan 2006 with update.......... But here then at last an update. ;) The only part I use from a regular case is the mobo panel. I choice this one as the victim.

    The treatment.

The setup of the hardware and radiators. With a drawing where its tail must come.

    Some more steel to shape

Then starting to build the lower part.

Looking or it will be appropriate. Yes that looks well for me.

On its tail still a red shield sits I makes that this way.

Of course there comes still what across, the first low polyester.

And now wait to it is hard.

I move the Discussion to this part of the form.

    30-12 Update 2

The polyester is ready so I can move on. From the backside of the bat I have no example, Then what improvises. I make it from some small steel plates.

Now it is possible that the pyramid and the bat can be weld to each other.

Because I have only a poster as sample, there is more to improvise.

Let the saw do the job

The first part of his legs.

sorry for the quality of the pictures I forgot my cam these are make by a foon.
