@Modsquad - Looks great man, I learned that a quick dip in Varathene replicates the LiLi copper finish. I think they used some kind of enamel.

Looking amazing! But now you have to make that mainboard tray look the same. Enjoy. :p

gap-cover, perfect word for that thing. :thumb:
I can't take credit for the finish MCmaster did it.. I only drilled and cut it..
@ perp45 : your correct, the MB tray does look (copper) different. My hope is that a coat of Copper Shield will solve the problem..
Have a great weekend, one and all..

That's some magnificent bling my friend. I can't wait to see more.

The LiLi tray has been brushed, that's why it looks a little different. Coating your copper wont help any.
Since you already have a polished plate getting a brushed look is really easy. (for the record, buying copper with the brushed finish is usually cheaper than the mirrored stuff - that's the case with metalsupermarkets anyway).

I've found that 3M's Scotch Brite Type A Very Fine (deep maroon color) give a near exact look to LiLi's finish. Methinks they run the panels under a wire brush or something. One Single Even Pass.

Many metal finishers use a machine called a "time saver" basically a planer would be to wood but it puts a finish on metals (like brushed). :)

The copper shield should make the MB tray a bit more shiny. That will be close enough. You have to remember that after the Foxconn board is in place, only about (2) inches of that MB tray will be visibly. Thanks for the information, never the less.
Next update, with any luck this upcoming Saturday.. Well, work on Saturday and update on Sunday..

When I was in the custom show car hobby long ago our machine shop had a looooooooog version of these brushes - both synthetic fiber and steel that would do a brush pass on a sheet up to 2 feet wide in a single pass. You reminded me of these. They produced a Lian-Li type finish by using a constant feed and a constant pressure.

That's exactly the sort of thing I had envisioned. Thanks for the link John.
