tribal man im using autoglym metal polish an alot of elbow grease to do the polishing.
mvagusta mate ive had a go just for you....lol

decided to have a go at cuttingslots in the wiring cover,i was gonna have a go at putting a K on it like the fan grill but after taping up an marking it out it just looked too much.
the first thing i done was mark out where the slots are gonna be an drill a 10mm hole in the ends,by doing this i dont need to cut the ends at all(wish id thought of doing this on the fan grill....lol)

once the holes were drilled i removed the tape and scored the lines i need to cut/file to with a scalpal, cutting by hand just destroys the tape.

then i set about the cutting using my trusty coping saw.

and here it is all cut out.

i'll post some pics of it all cleaned up just as soon as i find me file......lol......i know its around here some where

I didn't check this thread for a while. I'm honoured that my work served as an inspiration, the cover plates you're making look very nice! :thumb:

made the shroud for the res, really wanted to make it longer but only had enough alluminium left to do it the size it is.
im not gonna be using the tint behind the slots because im gonna be using feser black fluid that glows blue under U.V
    im preety happy with it

ive put some of the tinting film inside the res to show the contrast a bit better

    res

Nice work on the res too. I think the UV liquid next to the polished ali will contrast very well and look cool.

Looks good. The res and the cover look like one part.
    - (Obi-Wan hand wave...)You're going to need to make matching radiator covers now. -

Excellent :thumb: The shroud will look awesome with the uv glowing through it :D You gonna cut slots & put the tinited acrylic on the lower section of that wiring cover aswell? I reckon you should. +1 vote for cheapskates rad shroud suggestion :D Your covers with the tinted arcylic are quite original, use em to cover the hdd racking aswell :D

You need a studio light for those pics btw - i need one aswell, i should make one... it's basically just a small white light such as a halogen, shining at a white board such as a piece of melamine, and heaps of nice white light gets reflected back very evenly over a fairly large area. Many commercial ones use a white umbrella for the reflecting:
