The PC will get the fastest Athlon 64 754-pin CPU, and graphics card at time of completion. (There is no 939 SFF PC yet) The new graphics card will a lighting mod added too. Also ASUS is not a sponsor, it's ATI.
Although there is something very appealing about the red one. I have to say the black looks better to me. I also think the black goes with the case better.
How about some more drooling? I did a lighting test today, along with a few updates you haven't seen yet. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry about muddy-looking pic, the JPEG compression doesn't like the saturation of color. (Better images next week, as I am getting a new digital camera) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is a side image of the PC so far. The green is not as light as the camera shows, it is really a very pure deep green, and offsets the PC off the table well. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A close-up of the graphics card. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is the new stuff, the beautiful fire-and-ice cooler. (The shuttle cooling system is called an ICE cooler) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The chorme fan both reflects outside light, and inside light, creating a awsome, almost shimmering effect. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- This was done with four red LEDs, and four Orange LEDs, each offset from each other. They are installed into plexi-pieces attached direclty to the cooler.
Now THAT is some truly awesome usage of LEDs! The Green seems like kind of a stark contrast to everything else right now... Maybe its just the camera though I look forward to next week's droolage photos
Maybe a little late, but I think the all black blade looks best on the machine. Also, I wanted to compliment you on the lighting. You are an LED master.
hehe, cool work zappy. Btw, the cut on one side pannel isnt a smove, stright cut..and goes off into the case at one corner a little, was this case, or did u mess up a little?
the flame effect is really coming along. I especially like the effect the grill gives the LED fan at the back, looks amazing. One suggestion tho: In this image (dont worry i'm not linking it from ur site, its on my space), you can see the "fangs" (for lack of a better word) kinda point to the hub of the fan and when you look at it your eyes are immediately drawn to that silver circle. Maybe do something to it? Maybe just simply paint it red or something or some kind of logo/design. But then again it is at the BACK of the case, so most ppl wont see it. Altho the ppl who pass behind the ATI table will see it.
The side cuts are not as smooth as I could make them, yes. But I will be adding small trim to the edge to cover it up. I don't mind linking the image if it's on the same page. (As users would have it already downloaded a second ago) In that photo it may look that way, but in real life it depends on the angle you are actualy looking at, as the fan is chrome.
So an x800 xt will go in the box!! Cool! And those leds a the front they point in a circle bud the cover is pointing not straight from the center. It look cool al those leds but the combination is not quiet perfect. I would try to point the leds in the same way as the cover. Will be difficult bud worth a try. Cool mod. At least it stays a computer and not a fasion object.
looking good! does the ICE blow 'in' by default now ?! my 462 shuttle gets rather hot if you have anything blowing in
I made the ICE cooler blow-in. Normaly that does raise temps in a shuttle, but with extra vents on the sides the system runs cool. (I did a thermal test a while back) The green at the bottom my become red/orange, depending on a LAN party feedback test. (I will be taking the PC to the Directron.com LAN party this weekend.)
You know, as I sit here, drinking my rum, eating my lunch (yeah, liquid lunch lol), that two things are very prodominant with your machine. Fist off, you do realise how many people you are going to blind with this right? And how many geeks are going to just cream in their pants when they see it? Secondly, is the smoke effect generated by the green LED's visable in real life? Or is it just due to the camera? If it's just a camera thing, I think a small smoke generator under the table that this thing sits on would be killer, then just have the smoke pouring out from under it.
I was asked to "build a PC that people will notice from across the room" (The room being a large lan event) What smoke effect do you mean? The green leds are meant to make a contrasting area that makes the PC stand out from off the table. A smoke generator sounds cool, but it would be hard to fit into a shuttle.
