I so wanted Bruce Dickinson to do that bit. But tbh it was pretty damn good all round. Only a few things I hated, spice girls, George Michael, Oasis and 1-D, the rest put on a really good show.
Exactly. There were 65 or so medals awarded to Team GB and most of the winners would have a shot at sports personality.
Surely it can't be Murray, he doesn't even have a personality! My vote would go to either Wiggins or Hoy, Jess did well but Wiggo won gold and was the first Brit to win the Tour de France only a month earlier, while Chris Hoy became the most decorated British Olympian ever. But I suspect when it comes down to a popular vote Ennis will win it since she was the poster girl of the GB team, and athletics will always be more popular than cycling.
Fixed Seriously though, she's amazing. An absolute national treasure and totally deserving of SPOTY in my opinion
I enjoyed the closing ceremony, although some of the song choices/the entire first section weren't great in my opinion. Also checking facebook afterwards was horrific, so many people commenting as every new thing came on screen.... (this thread is pretty bad aswell ) And I'd like Hoy to get it, living legend.
Sports personality of the year will be Wiggins or Ennis - Wiggins has achieved more (well, he has achieved everything he can!), but Ennis is the nations sweetheart. Both of them will get queens honours anyway The problem with those who deserve it is... so many of them deserve it! Bit random the closing ceremony at the start but after that it got awesome Well done the BBC, and well done Team GB, and well done the UK
Ennis will get it, but in terms of overall achievement, Wiggins deserves it. Winning the Tour De France > Double Golds..
For the love of all that is good and pure, its the eyebrow. Its like the eye of relix, without the avatar changing awesomeness. <3
Hit and miss ceremony but I liked more than I didn't. I wonder if the US is in meltdown after Eric Idle said ****. Wiggo for SPotY! Though with last year's event being won by a cyclist and not having any women nominated I suspect Ennis will win this year, also deservedly. I don't fancy being on the panel that has to decide the short list for nomination, way too many people deserve a mention and we haven't even had the Paralympics yet. David Rudisha for overseas sports personality.
Opening Ceremony > Closing Ceremony IMHO. Highlights of the Closing ceremony though had to be Eric "the half a bee" Idle, Queen with Jessie J and Muse - although I'm pretty sure that there was a lot of miming going on. But on the whole, It didn't flow - unlike the openuing ceremony which was just spectacular. Hats off the Rio though - where did they find the love child of Lando Calrissian and Barry White to dance around in a white suit?
Now that alone would be worth the licence fee. No, I meant she is the clear winner already based on public opinion, not that she will be having sex during the sports personality of the year television program. Though it may happen, I doubt they will show it on camera.
