Sandblasting or bead blasting would look awesome, IMO. Don't paint the lovely aluminum :D

Had a spare hour today so I decided to spend it grinding the back panel into shape. Next stop will be to make some brackets for it.

Sorry about the update-vacuum lately, just haven't had any time to do anything major. I was planning to make one big update once I get the front finished, but since I don't know when that might happen I might aswell show you what I've done so far.

Making a front bezel for the center of the front.

Planning to mount it to the case using these brackets, but that's as far as I got.

I REALLY hope I get some get to finish this off this weekend, hate having a semi-finished project without the time to work on it.

Hope you like the look of the front :)

You can do it quite easily yourself with a dremel and an engraving bit, done it several times before. This time I just used the cnc, as I cut out the front with it it wasn't much work doing some engraving aswell.

    Thanks Evenge!

Managed to get the front mounted today, it's got one m4 thread in each corner which bolts to the case from the back so I won't get any visible bolts.

    The bracket:

    Threading the front.

Some alcohol to keep the alu from sticking.

The front is still not 100% finished, but at least now it sticks on without the help of masking tape.

Looking super sweet! Stealthed tap holes Cheesecake :p
What are you using to tap the holes? Looks like the chuck of a power drill from the pictures.

Edit: I didn't realise "FTW" was turned into "Cheesecake" xD
Edit 2: Oh dammit lol :eyebrow: :D

Cheesecake is "Cheesecake" because Cheesecake has always had that special taste of Cheesecake, you know?

Yeah I couldn't find my tapping tool (translation please) so it'd have to do, worked fine though!

I went to put in "for the win" and it turned it into cheesecake :p
    How long's it done that?
And damn you DID drill it?! Hard core xD Thought that'd give you too much speed? Or it a variable speed drill with lots of muscle behind it?

Don't know exactly, but I think it started before you registered. You've clearly not been paying attention :p

Well if you put it into high torque and keep it straight there's no problem. Only works on the smaller threads though like M8 and below, after that it gets really hard to keep the tap straight because of the tourqe needed to turn it. I really do recommend these spiral-taps instead of the ordinary straight-flute ones though, easier to work with and they don't get packed up with shavings halfway through.

Probably I never typed "for the win" on this forum before, but yeah as you said I probably wasn't paying attention :p

I must get myself some taps, wonder if ScrewFix do the spiral ones?

Edit: looks like they do :D
