Especially with regards the new strain, lot of the the just put in tier 3 area's graphs look a lot like the graphs of areas that have just been put in tier 4 a few weeks removed (when those areas were in tier 3). Is there a suggestion that the course is going to be so different over the next month or so in the tier 3 areas? It's all feels so painfully reactive rather than proactive.
Schools here now not reopening on the 4th as initially planned (finally...). Probably because 40%+ of our hospital admissions can apparently be linked to - wait for it - the schools and the new Turborona. It's not complicated stuff.
Yay, tier four. We were in tier one a few weeks ago - which was akin to hanging a big ****-off sign saying "come and get pissed on the island, we have reduced restrictions", coupled with the later announcement of London going into the newly created tier four and all the ****ers jumped in their Range Rovers and rushed over to their second homes on the island. That's not an exaggeration - I have never seen so many 20 plate Range Rovers, and not one of them had a Hampshire plate! Had a few of them in the shop today - buying last minute knickknacks before heading back to the big smoke. No point in staying here now, is there? *****, one and all.
Today's interactive Covid map takes us down from purple to blue, which is a relief. Can't see how it went so high here. Local commentary says the same about incomers from London and Portsmouth taxis at Hengistbury Head this week...brining SupeRona with 'em
Hmmmm, well I suppose if you want a vaccination (any not just covid) it was critical, no crab blood no injections, there's a synthetic version in use in the EU now for the past couple of years, but everyone else still sucks crabs dry. But it's more serious for the crabs I suppose, what with them dying and all.
I assumed this was a joke, but vaccines literally are made using horseshoe crab blood. Blimey. The more you know.
S'where I learned about it a couple of months back, although I have no idea how I stumbled across it. Anyone want to go halves on setting up a crab farm? This time next year Rodney...........
Every day is a school day on this website. I remember this being posted here before! Jesus. Seems like years ago, but can only have been nine months max. A wasted year in the extreme...
So now they want to give more first doses and delay the second for 12 weeks instead of 3. Pfizer say the efficacy has only been tested at 3 weeks. New year, same halfwits in charge.
The best bit is where you can get a vaccine that prevents you having serious issues but lets you still pass it on asymptomatically. So the only indication you're a danger to others is the trail of bodies behind you.
