It's nearly that time of year again. The teams have been busy during the winter months, designing (or photocopying ), building & testing their new cars. The first race is only a matter of weeks away, and the top teams have been trading fastest lap times during the testing sessions. Can anyone challenge the top two (Ferrari & McLaren) for wins this year? Will Super Aguri actually turn up? Will Honda's new car actually go faster than the team transporter? Now that Ralph's gone, will Toyota fair any better? How times will Webber whinge this year? Has Fernando brought his legendary 0.6s gain back to Renault (and can his eyebrows get any bigger!)? Can Coultards chin get any squarer? How many banana's will Ross Brawn eat? How long will it be before Lewis & Hekki fall out? Will Max's senile dementia get any worse? All these questions and more will be answered when the season starts in Melbourne on the 16th March! I reallllly hope the Honda get's better this year, Jense deserves another win some time soon. I also really hope Lewis turns into the bad boy of racing, the typical british cad, and win of course, but whilst being a cad, there aren't enough of them anymore, although Kimi is close. I also hope there are some more kubica style crashes.
Still hoping Square Jaw (Coulthard) will get somewhere this year, although tbh we've been waiting for that for years...
The only people who would race would be Kimi and Lewis so even with only two cars that would be awesome lol
Is Singapore a street race? Or is it just a floodlit track? If the latter - it might as well have been done in the day because the floodlights will be everywhere for safety reasons.
Yeah, A street race at night. Definitely going to have the pop-corn for that one. It should be a really interesting season with McLaren having what in my mind amounts to a dream team in Heikki & Lewis and maybe renault will get some speed back now that they have sorted out there wind tunnel. I would really like to see the Honda go around the track as if it actually had an engine this year.
It would be fantastic to see Alonso get beaten AGAIN by a rookie, but I fear that is too much to hope for.
No need for double-posting Uncertain - there is an edit button... OT: WOOOO! F1! Huzzah! Anyone going to Spa this year? I'll be there, living it up.
Might be working at the Brit GP again this year, fingers crossed!!!!! I think for the night race they should give them all gt cars so they can hit each other without destroying the car. But that would touring cars pretty much I guess. Does anyone know if the F1 cars are going to have lights for the nights races?
No, no lights on the car (other than the normal red light below the rear wing). The circuit will be flood lit, so there should be no need for lights.
Does anyone know when ITV are doing there usual look ahead to the new season show as I'll have to borrow the flatmates tv for that. Oh and apologies for the double post earlier, tried to correct it but can't delete posts on this forum
It's shame they aren't going to lights on the cars as well as floods. It would look kinda cool, and you could dazzle the person in front via their mirror's, giving you a chance to overtake. There we go, problem solved, a bank of LED's with a reflector in the tip of the nose. Well I can dream.
I am curious to see how the lack of traction control affects things, as almost all the drivers have only ever driven with it on the car. Expecting a lot more crashes this year.
