Do I remember correctly that a few years back cars that qualified outside of the top x (can't remember the number) weren't allowed to race?
In the old qualifying format when all the cars were allowed on track for the hour to do as many laps as they liked there was the 107% rule. If you time was outside 107% of the pole lap then you were disqualified from the race unless all the other teams agreed to let you race.
If anyone is wondering what the night racing will be like then it might be worth tuning in to BBC 3 at 19:30 (GMT) tonight for the Moto GP as there racing at night at Qatar.
The track layout for the night race seems decent enough from what I saw on the preview show today, I'm looking forward to the Valencia race as that track looks like it may produce some very good racing.
Nice to see that they're widening the roadway in front of the stand at Singapore... Still think that tunnel looks a bit narrow though! The kicker for me is that I'm in Singapore with Mrs GOO for her school reunion. IN AUGUST!!!! WHY CANT THEY HOLD IT IN SEPTEMBER!!! Who thought that the "Spawn of Ecclestroll" should never be allowed in front of a TV camera again? Good grief. I can see the conversation between Bernie and the the ITV big wigs: "So, you want to keep the coverage, yes? Right - give my girl a job. Or else."
Yay! Super Aguri is in Melbourne. They've been bought by the [DrEvil]Magma[/DrEvil] Group: http://www.planet-f1.com/story/0,18954,3213_3275938,00.html Team name change on the cards? Super Molten Rock?
You could tell she wasn't listening to the people she was interviewing when she asked Massa if he skied every year, he replied that it was only his 3rd time and she thought that was amazing! Why was that amazing?? Still, can't wait to see the Singapore race (went to silverstone to was a BTCC night race once and that was great) as well as the Valencia one (hope the bridges at both venues are strong enough to not need to fish out drivers from the water )
Kimmi Fastest in Prac 1, Hamiltion Fastest in Prac 2.... After bumping Webbo down to 2nd fastest by almost a second! Let the Wingeing commence! Prac 1: http://www.planet-f1.com/story/0,18954,3213_3298501,00.html Prac 2: http://www.planet-f1.com/story/0,18954,3213_3299131,00.html Are we excited yet?

Great start to the season for the young 'uns, hopefully won't be too much 'action' in to the first few corners between the three of them though.

I couldnt stop laughing when he said that. You think that will bleeped out in the re-run at lunch time? ITs a bit exciting at the moment with no traction control. We are seeing who the real drivers are now from their true skill. What a great race and well deserved win.
