Loving the fan work - the tilting of the mobo is definately going to be a challenge. But, knowing you, I bet it'll be done to perfection. ;)

Interesting orientation, will be excellent for tidier cables rather than piling out the top :D but will cooling be ok? I guess it will be with water cooling :D.

This case is getting the best treatment one of these cases will ever see I think :D, awesome stuff Angel :D.

Those fan mods are so clean like others said looks ready made like that :D . rep +5 star, thought I already done that but the option is there still.

Thanks man! :) I'm on it, fear not! :)

Thanks! I truly hope so! It's always fun to venture into areas you have never tried before! Just hoping the result will be as well as the idea is in my head! :)

In all honesty, I have no idea about the heat. I'm just going with the feel and hoping!

Thanks a lot man, I'm really happy about the fans myself! :thumb:

So I got the fans done today. Sort of...

I started out with 2 of the Phobya ones and that was easy peacy.

I then went on the the first Gelid. I started out in the lathe, and all of a sudden I heard a cracking noise. The fan housing stopped moving but the lathe kept going... I didn't use a chuck so I new the risk was there, and I therefore did it quite carefully.

After further inspection, I found out the housing was not the same... :wallbash:
The anoying thing is that one of the Gelid's ARE identical with the Phobya, but the second was not... And that's the one I was working on...

It's not cast in a single piece as such, but has "inserts" in the corners:

Actually the design of the back is not the same either, but I just didn't notice that!

This quite sucks, but for now I have 2 red and 2 blue.

If I need more I'll see what can be done.

I'm contemplating writing Gelid and ask if it's a mistake or if they changed the design, and I just got one of each.
I'm gonna tell them that I may have voided the warranty a bit though...

That's it for now. My girlfriend just went through surgery (nothing big) but I'm not gonna stay late at work and do more modding this week! :)

C ya guys next week! :)

I have decided I'll send them a message. I hope they laugh at me or something!

Thanks man! So do I... So do I! :) So much to do, and right now I'm just trying to figure out in which order to do everything! :)

Dunno man! It sucks they can't keep to one design, but that's the game I guess! :)

I'll just throw in a small update:

I made a couple of brackets for the rads. I might turn them 180 degrees, so they disappear under the rads. This depends on how the bottom of the case looks, I havn't had time to test fit them:

I also have a little thing to do with the back of the case, so I pulled that. Hopefully this should be done by the weekend! :)

I shall leave you with the view I woke up to sunday morning... Love it! :)

    C ya soon guys! :)

Fractal Design Refine R3 looks good in white. :)

The view looks nice :) been getting super chilly in some parts eh :D read it got as low as -44c in Russia :eeek: I'll never know what cold is until I've walked around in temps like that, worked in a freezer before though & seen icicles forming on peoples eye lashes. :D:hehe:

Well Wayne it's cold, flip'n cold, and I hope to not work in it again. :)

Angel, It may be more work but that is a sweet layout for the mobo. :)

Great work on the fans, at least the first four.

I agree, it really is a beautiful white case! :)

Yeah, it's damn cold but the snow on that pic is actually the only we have had around here... If I'm supposed to be cold, at least let me get some more damn snow! :)

Thanks man, I'm also pretty sure it's worth it! :thumb:

    Thanks! :)

    Thank you very much! :)

Very small update, I got started on the back today.

Didn't do as much as I had hoped, but things move forward slowly but steadily! :)

I had to cut out the part that held the backplate in:

    Unfortunately that's it for now.

    C ya soon hopefully! :)

I've missed so much of this. The reservoirs look absolutely brilliant and the GPU block is just superb . This is going to be another master piece. Top modding dude can't wait to see more of this.

    On with a small update.

I finally got around to doing the first part of the back of the case.

A couple og pieces of .5mm steel:

Fast spot-welded (Don't hate on it, it's good enough and I'll smooth it out. I never weld anymore! )

Now it's time for some bondo and a paint job, then the back should be done! :)

A little envelope of happiness arrived from MDPC:

Not much, but yet a small update! :)

Looks like a fine weld to me. It's not like you burned through the metal or fused it to the table.
-Gimmie a welder. I'll show you how to do that.:D

Thank you very much sir! :)

I'm glad you like it, I'll be happy when it's covered and painted!

I DID burn through a bit here and there, but nothing bad.

The problem is that I never weld anymore, so fusing steel and stainless steel at .5mm thickness is not the best place to start again! :)

Give you a welder? That would be like giving the welder to a ... monkey... wait... :worried:
