Don't know where heard it from, but I can find no trace of it and all arrows point to it being a regional thing. Ah well. I'll get back in my cave.

TIL that my cat, who is scared of the doorbell and vacuum, is eager to go outside and watch the fireworks.

Cats often react strangely to fireworks. Instead of staying indoors they seem to think the best thing to do is go outside to hide from the noise. We always lock the catflap before the local display starts.

Ours was just sat at the backdoor looking up at them quite calmly...

    Very odd behaviour for her.

Ralph likes to sit in the window watching them. Alphonso prefers to watch them from under the quilt...

Daisy never gave a flying poop about fireworks, they weren't in her bubble, they didn't matter.

Low flying aircraft on the other hand.

I don't know how my cats react to fireworks (fireworks are effectively illegal here, save for VERY few, VERY controlled circumstances), but I know they HATE the gardening crew in the complex (as in - they'll go lie under the bead if they hear them walking around the house... but only specifically THEM... nobody else - and they do this without seeing them), and thunder sends them right under the bed as well.

I'll tell you how the wife's cat reacts... by doing diarrhoea shits behind the TV unit all over the carpet and the vast amounts of cabling.

    That's what I learned today.

Anyone want a cat? One former owner. Good condition. Slight size 9 shoe imprint on its arse.

TIL that I can do most aspects of my manager's job. He's on holiday and I'm unofficially deputising (doing all the admin/paperwork,) and had to take my first "supervisor" call, to deal with an angry customer.

I used to do floorwalking when I worked in telephone banking - mostly just support and advice for others on the phone, "how do I do this", "what does this mean", etc - and I used to take over calls occasionally when a customer asked for a "manager". Most of the time the customer was satisfied with hearing another voice on the phone, even when you're telling them the same things the first person did.

TIL that there was an actual Star Wars Christmas Special that aired once in 1978 on a US network, never to be aired again....ever!!

You can still find it if you look hard enough. Part of me wants to find it, out of morbid curiosity, but most of me realises that it will be part of my life that I will never get back.

That's what I'm afraid of.... I think it will sully any lasting memories I may have of the Star Wars universe pre-CGI-molestation!

It's horrible, unless you're intoxicated and then it's hilarious.
Bea Arthur singing alongside a giant mouse is one of the tamer moments.
Bottom line is it's better than Star Wars: The Last Rian Johnson Film

If you watched Droids and or Ewoks as a child do not look them up either. Let the memories go untainted.

TIL baby yoga isn't yoga for babies, it's adults doing yoga using babies as a type of apparatus. I find that a little bit disturbing.
