Nice work there Bill, I am sorry about your mess with the online order and the tubing, you can always find a better place to buy stuff mate. If that tubing chips off, its 100% sure that it will continue that way so its better to change it now instead of having problems with it later. Keep up the good work man

WOW! Having seen what you've done with your H50 I now wish I'd kept mine.
But I just don't have that vision you have. That looks terrific!:thumb:

I really like that mesh, everything looks so clean and flawless.Im thinking about using that same mesh but adding a rust effect and other details to it. Can I pick this up at your site?

@AnG3L, that was my thought, I may try painting the chrome version instead.

    @Mankz, thanks mate!

@oldnewby, just trying to find a simple "custom" solution. btw: Your vision is always stellar mate :thumb:

@BLUEHORSESTUDIOS, sure, gimme a shout via email

I had a "Doh!" moment this week and discovered the fan grill I made for the PSU was too thick (3/16") and wouldn't allow the PSU to fit in the chassis because of the folded lip on the MB tray. I got ahead of myself and goofed :duh: I also doubt MSI will ever rotate the grill insert on it, so I made this 1/8" thick version without the rotating insert.

I mounted the PSU with these 6/32 anodized button head machine screws.

I went back to the workshop, looked at the chrome tubing. I'm really doubting the paint will be worth the time and effort, it will likely chip off as well. Before I cut the Chrome loom to replace the flaking Anodized Blue loom, I decided to divert my focus and start polishing the top surface of the milled MSI logo (as per cheapskate's suggestion)

I used Mother's brand BILLET Polish and 1000 grit wet/dry automotive sandpaper and a terry cloth towel. Ignore all of the grime surrounding the logo, I'm re-painting both of the side panels with another Aluminum Silver Enamel paint.

Whoaaa, shaawing :D that looks awesome polished up bill, must see if I can get some of that mothers brand polish it appears to be very good stuff :), did it take long to get it like that after the sanding.

Love the shot of the skies reflection .

Bill, even with that "grime" around it it looks awesome! It even brings up the whole logo.
I can feel your pain, polishing that logo, I'm sure it took some time to get this shiny finish. I tried it once and without good polish compound and super high grit paper its very hard to achieve.

I really like all the details in this build, for example the part of the logo where it goes on the sign and has those splits/gaps - that looks so real, fantastic.

@stonsurd, this has been another episode of "I blame it on cheaps!" :D

I know this, ...69 mins... ..I was listening to the entire duration of sigur ros ( ) album as I worked on the panel. The truth is, you could polish forever and ever... it's actually very Therapeutic ....at some point you have to decide "OK, I can live with this"

This brings up an interesting idea for a project theme.... Grime and shiny Chrome... or Rust and Chrome ..hmmmmm :eyebrow:

Thats a good suggestion StEm :thumb: Luckily I bought the Chrome version of the loom as well. It's much more durable than the Anodized Blue... I'm using it instead.

Yeah!! likin all the metal styling going on here, the cooler mod looks wicked, been playing with the split loom for a while, was thinking about doing the H50 exactly the same way you've done it, looks superb...Little tip, if you use it on anything which you can create an open end on(like cables etc) slip a bit of clear shrink wrap on the ends stops it moving about and opening up.. Use a small piece in the middle section, only has to be about 1/4 of an inch and it's near enough invisible......following this project keep it up.
