LOL thank god they dropped it on the front Cheers 4LIEn tyvm mate I thought keeping them smaller would be better to help the pages load faster... i just move on every time i see some one here post stupid big pics.... I'd be happy to upsize , Say to 800 x 400? Cheers Dougie It's great to have your support over here too mate Hope you are well buddy. We need to catch up soon.
Small update With Updates! Up-sizing the pics lemme know if you guys prefer the bigger size. Appols for the lack of posts .. I have been modding.... just nothing major. All sorta just finishing off bits and redoing others. @Jeff Hine said: ↑ Purely out of curiosity, I can't tell if this is a 'stone' effect or whether it's been sprayed with a dusting of paint to detect high spots to be sanded off, at a later date... either way, it's a level of attention to detail that is highly creditable. The idea for the Black shadow is to use the black as a guide for sanding. Using a flat black you sand and whats left in black is "low" you can decide if you want to keep sanding or use a high filler and go again. As you can see above i decided to "keep going" then primer and spray putty and use some putty to fill the small low up top. Pretty much the same for the new back panel. Sand and fill some small lows and blemishes as well as adding a very ruff cut for the power.... One of the "re do" things was the rear diffuser.... i decided to make it a stand alone section. Another "Re do" was the top section, ETD's! Exhaust Turbulence Reducers !!! Thanks to and ocau member And finally Some mesh is added to the front Vents More to come tomorrow
I really love all the detail, also the top section! The "re do" process it's really frustating, i know very well! For the picture size.... bigger is always better! Now i can see better your beautiful plexi work! Also, I think that in this forum all user have a 22" or bigger screen! (i hope )
Cheers DK thanks mate Redo, remake, take 1 take 2 take 3..... if you guys could see the pile of stuff that hasn't made into this case...... i might do a show @ the very end just for giggles....Defyant's Gag reel ! Cheers 4LIEN ty mate
Another one of those "side tracked" moments Decided to add a PSU cover.... this will help to hide some of the spaghetti and another lil mod i have in mind I'll skip thru the usual cut and glue stuff... and jump to this. Then i made one of these To make one of these A splash of paint and guide coat a lil bit of temp tape starts to take shape. A simple slide fit Snug fit and yes it has a hood scoop
I remember doing my first mobo cover back in 2003 .... i'm sure they called me a nutter back then......
Another one of those side track moments..... Starts off with one of these It gets stuck here and used to cut a nice big hole From the front side the edge is bevelled. Front fan duct is added to check clearance Then the GPU is sat in place to check clearance and the Stats screen is placed. The screen is a repurposed Samsung Galaxy SII Running an Android app that connects to the PC via WiFi. The interface is fully configurable. Power is added Via a usb to header cable and phone is set to always on while powered. The top bar can be removed via a setting (always full screen). The stats you are seeing is from my PC in the house... thanks to WiFi. A secondary screen for more info can be run @ the same time...
I realized the case's size only with the gpu in place ..... I thought it was smaller Great Idea to recicle an old smartphone
Cheers DK It is a beast! Cheers 4LIEN Remote System Monitor, Really cool App ! With tons of potential
We're on the home stretch now ! ..... well until i change my mind again Yesterday was all the boring stuff..... more sanding and spot putty work... but today was a bit more fun as i finally get to throw down some colour First the boring! Kinda like running around putting out all the little spot fires. Some final prep work to the PSU cover, Filling in all the plex joins and fixing a few small dimples. It's a lotta extra work, but the end result will be worth it. Not sure if any one noticed this before but i changed the front. Decided to carry the lines thru to the bottom of the panel for a cleaner sharper look. This added a couple of extra days work... but i think it's worth the time. Then finish off the bracket for the Galaxy II Stats screen It's a simple spring type clip mod, that just holds the phone snug in place. A hell of a lot more wet rubbing and more spot fires and all the parts under base coat (silver) A day later....just when you thought all the wet rubbing was over ..... It's more wet rubbing again.... Why sand every coat? To get the paint as flat as poss.... that is what gives the mirror finish @ the very end. Fun Time First a few coats of the gun metal and then on goes the 2K clear coat. Lets do a few more Just for giggles! what could have been!!!!!
